She doesnt like One stone rings so nothing orginal..

Shes like antique unusal rings that are i guess fancy or 3 stones rings that have diamonds down the side..


They have quite the collection shes definitly not a simple choice.

Ask them to sell you a place holder ring with the option to change it. Pick one you like, if she likes it your golden, if not you can go in and let her pick out what she wants.

My guy was pretty poor when he proposed to me. I was very happy with a simple no frills ONE carot Diamond engagement ring from him. I still wear it to this day, nearly 40 yrs. later.

He has bought me many fancier, pricier bigger rings since, but he is often very pleased to see me still wearing that simple 1 diamond ring, cuz he then still knows I loved HIM the man, not for his money, nor lack of it. Good times come and go...one should love the man, more than his income, or any rings or things, which he may be able to buy us.

My new Daughter-in-law went for a very very rare opal for her engagement ring. My son had a very hard time getting her the ring of her choice. Very pricey too, for such a dinky stone even smaller than my own diamond. I nearly needed a microscope to SEE IT. But she was and still is thrilled with it.

If ya go with multiple diamonds probably 'the setting' and which cut of stone rounds, sq., marquis etc. may more important to the lady, cuz some rings look pretty then ya put em on and some settings look pretty but they feel all bulky clunky or too heavy, or one day be snaggin up all your panty hose, with your ring finger too. One also won't see me makin meatloaf in any rings ewwww raw beef in my pretty gemstones NOT.. I may be perhaps too practical of a female at times, for most menfolk or even other womenfolk, to even, fathom.

Very pretty, but don't forget to be practical too. A ring with 'spikey' corners etc. can look very nice, but not when it's snagged your favourite cashmere sweater and pulled a thread. This is a ring that's going to be worn all day, every day.

I'm no judge of good rings. When we got engaged I totally rejected the traditional stuff and chose a ring with 3 amethysts seperated by small diamonds

My thoughts too, Petra. And the ones with the diamonds above the surface that march down the sides of the band, can be a constant irritant rubbing on the skin of the fingers on either side. I don't think most ladies want to be in the position of constantly removing their very special, and beautiful rings because they catch or chafe.

This would be my pick for overall appearance combined with practical wear considerations...but then again, I'm not her.

Soul, Sturdy had very good advice. Beyond that, doesn't she have a female friend who knows her tastes well, that might be able to help you decide?

Stay away from Kay...

You can twice the ring at a Diamond Seller.

Every major city in the USa has a Diamond exchange, ask around and get good word of mouth.

When I buy jewlery for my wife I go into NYC

Example, my brother in law was getting hitched he almost bought at Kay, I took him to see my person and he went from a .75 CT, SSI with F color to a 1.15, VSI with D color for the same price.

Learn what this all means Before you buy, hopefully thisd is for life so make it as good one!!
You wan tto make sure if is VSI (amount if imperfections, seen with naked eye) and D color (make sure it shines, lower colors look like crap in sunlight)

That is a subjective area (although I would agree with you, for my own personal preference). If he and his intended have similar views on what should be spent in this area, and he has the money (i.e. don't even think about using credit, if you can't afford to pay cash for it, then it is too much!), then it works for them.

Like any major purchase, it should be researched though, as someone else suggested, to make sure you get the best quality for the money spent.

As of right now this is the #1 pick we went into the shop to try it on...

She "loves" it but i want to go to a cpl others kay jewlers shops in the area there was one ring she tried on a year ago and absolutly drooled over. Going to see if they still have it....

Except this comes with an extra band that wraps around the ring makes it look thicker and more shiney of course... total comes out to 2 1/12 carrets
