OT: BCS is a joke

TCU got hosed. You know, I know, we all know it. Putting them in a bowl with another non-BCS school is a cowards way to protect the joke that is the BCS. Certainly don't want them in a bowl with say, a Florida because then if TCU won, that would only validate the claims of the inadequacy of the BCS. When will the farce end and someone bring us a playoff???

Wow thanks for your post I forgot about the bowl selection show tonight; Who did they get matched up with? Boise?

If so I agree..I woudl rather see botht hose teams get to run up against the big boys; especially in light of the way Utah handled Bama last year when given the chance.

That being said they played a Bama team that had a patch work o-line (Andre Smith suspended and his back up goign down 2 series into the game) but that had nada to do with letting thier O hang 21 unanswered points on us.

Fla/Cincy is a good match up though.

I can't tell you how badly I wanted USC to have to face UGA a couple years ago when LSU won the NC, UGA went to the Sugar bowl, and USC played Illinois in the Rose bowl.

TCU isn't my team however I think they would put up a game vs any major conference team. Unfortunately, the mental midgets that run the BCS don't want a non-BCS team messing up their gig. Isn't it funny how everything always works out positively for this little system they have set up? That way there's less clamor for a playoff. It's all very convenient.

If TCU played in the SEC or the Big 12 they would have lost at least 2 games this year and been going to the scratch you nutz bowl!

I do agree the at the BSC is a failed system but these teams that go undeafeated in the Jr leagues have no idea what it takes to win when the competition is top notch week in and week out.

I should also say that with a month to prepare TCU might actually beat Bama or Texas, dosent change the fact that they played 4/5 real games this year.

This. 7 of the nine SEC teams we played this year are going to bowl games as is VT. Next year Alabama Play Fla in the regular season and Penn State out of conference, so it's gonna be a tough road once again.

I hear this argument all the time but it's bogus. There are what, 30+ bowl games? If you take the top 8 teams for a playoff system, that's 4 games in the first round, 2 in the second, then a true national title game. That's 7 games total. Those 7 games will draw as much or more than the BCS bowls would and still leave teams 9-20 to play in other "major" bowls. A playoff would bring in more money than the BCS' current setup, mean more football on tv, and still allow for lesser schools to play in a bowl game.

I agree that schools like TCU and Boise St need to schedule tougher games if they want the respect but that doesn't change the level of talent they have. Personally, I think TCU can hang with the big boys this year but because of the current flawed system, we'll never know for sure. As a college football fan, that sucks. I want to see GOOD games and the best playing the best, not what some stuffed shirts in a board room somewhere decide I get to see.
