OT: anyone that has read and liked Stephen R. Donaldson

If you dont know his 3rd series (2nd book) of thomas covenant is as good as his first series. Fatal Revenant.
Actually I am only half way through it and love it. I didnt really care that much for the 2nd series and the 3rd series 1st book.

Read the first few a looooog time ago, the whole leper thing was kinda cool. Right now I am re reading the Xanth series by piers anthony.

Have not yet read the third series, but the first two were my favourite fantasy novels other than LOTR, largely because of the Bloodguard/Haruchai.

Really liked the 1st. Ran into Stephen R Donaldson several years ago at a very small book signing that he had. Felt bad that hardly anyone showed, but on the other hand I got to talk to him about his books.

I've been reading his books for years.
The 2nd series of Covenant was a bit dreary, compared to the first, but the 3rd is off to a good start.

LOL...if you bought the hardcover editions of all the series, you can also use them to build a spare room on your house afterward.

I think I had both the Belgariad and at least some of the Mallorean in hardcover, but it was ages ago, and I may have got those as SFBC editions and it is highly likely they were combo volumes (had gazillions of SFBC edition books). I can't remember anything about the series really other than the book names. I am pretty sure I anonymously donated those in a whole car trunk load of books to a hospital library ages ago, which is probably a good thing as with my luck, someone in there for hernia surgery probably picked one up. At least they can't trace the books back to me, and sue me.

Those books were definitely monsters. However, Robert Jordan died last year, at which time there were a total of 11 books in the series. It is my understanding that his family has his notes/draft for the conclusion of the series and someone else will be writing the finale based on them. I began to lose interest in the series after book 4, and completely stopped following it after book 7, though.
