Organized Battle Chicken Lizard Fighting

I'm working on collecting information for a Stratics page about the new battle chicken lizards. I'd like to include some information about how people are using the lizards in organized fights or tournaments. To that purpose, I'd like to invite anyone that is already sponsoring such fights or thinking about it to answer a couple of questions. If the response is great enough, I may include a section on the page to list information for groups that plan to have regularly scheduled battle chicken lizard fights / tournaments.

1. Name of person or group sponsoring the battle chicken lizard fight or tournament.

2. How often do you host or plan to host fights / tournaments? Are they or will they be held on a particular date and at a specific time?

3. Where is the fight / tournament held? Is it in Trammel or Fel? Which shard are you on?

4. Is participation limited to a specific group of people or can anyone participate?

5. Do the lizards have to be pre-registered and is their information (i.e., stats, resists, skills) made available before the fight?

6. What are the rules for the fight / tournament?

7. Describe any prizes that are awarded and criteria for winning.

8. Please list any other information you think is relevant or helpful.

I'm a bit reluctant to ask about whether you have or will have wagering (for in-game gold only!!) in connection with the fights, so I leave it up to you whether or not you want to provide that information!

Just investigating interest in starting this up on Europa, so still at the 'planning ' stage -

1. Aurelius, very much assisted by the O*T Guild.

2. Couple of test evenings in November/December, if all goes well maybe fortnightly January - July. Most likely Monday evenings, 21:00 UK time.

3. Tokuno - arena built by O*T just west of Zento, Europa shard.

4. Open to anyone.

5. Not planned on any pre-registration other than the tamer letting me know how many pets he intends bringing - want to ensure there will be sufficient bouts to justify people coming along! Could well expand this later on.

6. Provisionally, those in the link above, but since I'm new to this there may well be changes (Anyone with experience in running these, feel free to chip in on the Europa thread!)

7. So far, I'm only proposing engraved 'deco' items, and maybe a smallish cash prize - will see how demand and attendance goes, but may increase that later. Currently I'm intending a simple 'survivor wins' set of bouts. Again, suggestions for other options appreciated.

As for gambling - I've no intention of trying running that as well as the fights, but should others in the audience want to do so, I can't see me having a problem with it - as long as it's clear who is doing that particular activity, and it's nothing to do with the organisation of the 'main event'!

So far it looks like Europa and Siege are the only shards with people working on these events. I suspect GL has something going on and am hoping someone that plays there will confirm.

You should talk to Rachel at CFC on GL....I believe they are breeding chickens like mad over there! Fight are every Saturday night at 8pm.

Siege will have its first Battle Chicken Tournament on 12/19/09, sponsored by Sweeney. There are no plans for regular tournaments at this time, but that could change.

The location is yet TBD, but there are two locations in mind. Remember Siege is all Fel, so if you want to attend don't wear any valuables.

Anyone with a battle chicken lizard can participate, there is no pre-registration of pets. Although hopefully you will use a near or fully trained pet.

Will be an elimination-style competition (provided there are enough participants.)

Fight rules are still sketchy, right now there is:
1. No help from the owners (magic, bandages, etc)
2. Fights last a max of 5 mins.

If fight is still going after 5 mins, the pet with the most health wins. If health values are very close, it will be a draw. Judges will make the call on whether there is a definite winner.

Entry fee is 50k, and the prizes are:
1st place - 66% of entry fees
2nd place - 20% of entry fees
3rd place - 14% of entry fees

Statues are a possibility as well.

If you're interested and have a house on Siege, train your Battle Chicken!

WOWEE This is my favorite subject!!!
Chicken Fight Club, CFC has been holding chicken fights for well over 5 years now.
Some nights its big crowds, some not so big, but always a fun night out for everyone.
We fight Greater chickens, Battle chickens, CuSidhe, Greater Dragons...heck anything we can get two bonded of we will try atleast once.
The Bigger pets have a two minute timer, folks fall asleep if it goes to much longer than that.
1. CFC sponsors it now, we hold Pet auctions every couple months to make the gold we give away. But we use to get help from auction houses, like MOA and various friendly guilds.

2. We have the Fights every saturday night at 8est, gate from Luna.

3. Malas, east of umbra

4. Its open to everyone, just gotta join CFC for the evening, non faction.

5. we register pets as they enter at fight time, on a single elimination fighting bracket type tounament.

6. A few easy rules.
Please stay in human form, or Elf will do
No Fowl Language!
No casting of spells except for personal travel.
No healing of the animals while they fight.
No peacemaking... targeted or area.
Dont enter the staging area unless told to do so.
Betting will be with a 10k max.
Place your bet with our bookie
and finaly...
Lets have some good clean Chicken Killin Fun!!

7. 100k to 1st 50k to 2nd place in each class.

8. ya got to have betting!! we have a 10k max bet so the money doesnt get outragous, but it gives the crowd a reason to cheer on their favorite critter.

The Battle chickens were put into the game for this purpose and they require 0 taming, so everyone can participate.

4. Is participation limited to a specific group of people or can anyone participate? - Currently limited to Syndicate members but we are considering a regular public tournament as well.

5. Do the lizards have to be pre-registered and is their information (i.e., stats, resists, skills) made available before the fight? - Information is generally pre-known but if needed can be gleaned at fight time.

6. What are the rules for the fight / tournament? - There are "weight class" based fights which are based on chicken strength scores since that cannot be changed and varies widely. Its handled in a standard bracket format with winners advancing to the next round.

7. Describe any prizes that are awarded and criteria for winning. - Prizes vary from week to week including gold and items and are awarded to the last chicken standing in each weight class.

I've tried to host pet-fights on Napa twice now... the demographics here have changed drastically....

Challenges faced:
1-lower population than I'm used to
2-venue (must have a Fel house, or rely on EMs for assistance and must schedule around their events)
3-time differences (Myself hosting... I live in Hawaii.. and time is a major issue)


I've a guild formed - but only 1 active (?) member... so not much help from guildies in managing a tourney. I love nothing more than hosting events, and I figured these new battle chickens lizards would be awesome.... *sigh*

Now that I reactivated my second account... I just might build a house in Fel strictly for pet fights... yeah... I think I'll do that...
