Why is it +30 Hit points if the cap for HPI is 25? Granted, the +25 is nice, but before I bought one I hadn't realized that it was greater than the cap. Plus, it kinda makes running a Crimson a waste but for the dex bonus. Any chance they will adjust this?

It's because it's based on the original event item, which was from before the caps were introduced.
And, there's a HPI cap? I thought there was just a general cap at 150 HP total...
Do note also that there are TWO versions of the Helm, becuase two different shards had different versions of the item, thanks to EMs working together. The OTHER Orc Chieftain Helm (Replica) is 30% HCI instead of 30 HPI...

I was not even aware they made both replica's until reading this post, I have the hci one. Anyway Basara is right that there is no HPI cap, its just that you cant go over 150 hp, wait how did anyone come to think their was a 25hpi cap? just did the math in my head and you can never get 125 hps with out items...and the cap is 150, so where did this 25 number come from?

There is a hpi cap and it is 25...They capped it because people complained during the pvp focus group of people having to much life.
The cap for HPI is 25. I tested it on my fencer running a crimson,fey legs and I believe bracelet of health. That gives +21 HPI. When I put on the orc helm it just adds 4 HPI. That still gives me 137 hit points, but the helm bonus is pretty much negated for that char.
I actually got the helmf or my necro macer and was surpised I didn't get the +30 HPI.
