So, it's almost that time of year again! A new NRL season is almost on us, and it isn't just any season, its the 100th (centenary) season! Its sure to be an awesome year with many special events for the centenary planned, such as the Rugby League World Cup, scheduled to be held (in Australia) after the regular NRL season.

I know its extremely early days, but who will win this year? Can Melbourne go back to back?

I think my opinions on who will win should be obvious *points to signature* although I haven't been right since '94! Somehow I think it's our year this year though

Oh and, go the Blues! Who could forget that?

http://www.bigpondtv.com/nrl/44176 - New NRL ad, this is really well done and cleaver.

GO THE MIGHTY STORM - And go the blues.

Oh and totally agree that Ad is fantastic, I saw it on one of the current affair shows the other day and was in awe.

Hard to go past the storm again. I expect the bunnies to be stronger again this year and will give the finals a shake. The titans will start strong and fade towards the end of the season like last year because lack of depth but they are a chance to make the 8. Roosters will be stronger. Dragons will under achieve as always (sorry) and parramatta and manly will be the only two sydney clubs that are a chance of knocking storm off. Warriors will win more than they lose but they won't be a serious premiership threat. My tip for the wooden spoon is the knights closely followed by the raiders (soz sneaky...) or penrith. I don't know what to expect from the doggies or the tigers but their off season buys have not impressed me. Lastly the broncos and the cowboys - broncos will depend on lockyer more than ever and he is a step slower and carrying more injuries that he used to, their forward pack will be less experienced than in previous years. Personally I think they might struggle a bit. The cowboys will be a top 4 contender i think, they have heaps of depth in the forwards but are light on in the backs. If they lose one of their starting centres or, heaven forbid, johnathon thurson, they are up [censored] creek. I think they could finish top 4 but.

Mostly agree here, mainly on the Saints, they always have a way of not being as good as everyone expects.

Haha thats ok mate, we get tipped to win the spoon every year, then go on to surprise everyone. Its no secret that the Sydney clubs and a result the media have it in for the Raiders ever since we were the first team to take the title out of Sydney. Thats ok though, we as Canberrans are kinda used to Sydney being jealous of us by now...

Yeh, I can see Brisbane going through the same problems soon that Newcastle have been through/going through recently, RE: life after Joey, except this time life after Locky.

The Cowboy's season depends on 2 players, Thurston and Bowen, without them they could easily win the spoon IMO.
