Online games you play when UO is down?

I like driving games.
That one ruined my ability to corner responsibly in any other driving game
And Thunder Alley was more fun than it deserved to be

Yea thunder alley rocked for sure. To bad it was ruined by rammers. Poor drivers that couldn`t win,so had to crash peaple out. They`d get banned but still... GRRRR. It took me awhile to get the cornering right too,one thing I never got good at was drifting. It was amazing to me to see players going around door handle to door handle drifting thru corners and not touch each other. I just couldn`t do it.

I started playing Arca 08 and WOW,awsome game. Nothing like takin the field with 30+ other drivers......and who aren`t trying to wreck you but rather the opposite,trying hard to keep it clean. Everything from qualifying/practice/happy hour and cautions. Was very fun but I could not do better than field filler,lol. Try my damndest and lay down great qualifying times but in race trim I`d just get passed and shuffled to the back. Still fun though. The one race at Talladega was almost full 30+,ya never let off the throttle.... goin into turn 2 and 3 wide open with cars in front of you on your right and filling your rear view. ROFL.... all I can say is breath deep. Took me 10 minutes to get rid of the shakes after I crashed out.

So if your into racing sims and/or nascar ya may want to give Arca 08 a try,its a VERY good race sim. Only downside is you`ll need to join a league for regular races but thats very easy. All the teams are lookin for peaple.

I should mention that anyone contemplating Arca 08,be warned that you will definately need a wheel. I have a G25 that works great for it and other games but I have friends with MOMO`s that do just as well.

Hah! All these little whippersnappers with their "3D graphics" and their "immersive gameplay" and their "co-operative teamwork"... back in MY day, we played DHTML Lemmings, and we LIKED it.

I sometimes play Protector. Written by an UO player, I forget his name. Has UO monsters in it.

Wish it had an adjustable difficulty scale, it actually got easier near the end.
Also, some of the advanced defenders were kind of useless (or were only useful for 1 or 2 levels).
Wish Noxim (Noxin?) would make more of these.

The way this message came out made me read it at least three times before i realized you were not engaging in... how do I say... self-loving... in UO down times, but were referring to playing another game on another computer that happened to be an xbox... careful with the return button buddy, it may change the way things are interpreted

I played Motor City Online before UO......When it died they offered UO or the Sims. So when UO is down, and time allows, XBox360, offline. Test Drive Unlimited.......

...........The setting is Oahu. Scaled down to the square foot, takes over an hour to circle the island, unless you can do 150 non-stop. There's cops, other cars, tons of races and acheivements.....you can even buy houses.
(no decorating though.
Drawback, no pedestrians. Though you can cross a field and drive in the wild for 10 minutes, stop and watch the trees and grass sway and hear the wind howl.

Hell, I even pushed a dumpster from behind a store and watched the AI traffic slam it around.

My kids and I play Stronghold 2. I love castle sims. They're too young still to let me annihilate them without crying so we play allied against the AI. Otherwise I just surf the net, read Stratics and/or some tech forums like Tom's Hardware or Anandtech.

DDO - Not often I hate 4th Ed's instant Gratification Rule Set...
Atlantica Online - This I often have running even when I'm in UO, many features are designed with being AFK in mind.
On very rare occasions I'll hit up Voyage Century Online - When I say rare I might play 10 sessions in a year.

Never Winter Nights - It's getting old but it's still a good game, and many people have set up persistent worlds for players to adventure in.

With NWN I'll sometimes work on custom modules, same with NWN2.....

Awwww... I miss that game! I had a lvl 83 assassin and my sorc was higher than that. But alas... I forgot to sign on during the stupid lax period and they were deleted. Is it still as hacked as it was? B-net is the worst about that!
