One year, two months, and twelve days.

Introduction: I didn't post this in the the theft of the month because it's a theft that takes place over the course of one year, two months, and twelve days, and I've been milking it this entire time.

Long Version: http://uothief.com/misadventures/ep229.html

Short Version: During my first week on Siege I figured out where the largest blue guild/alliance on the shard distributes their power scrolls. They did it almost every morning in the same location. I'd space out the time in which I'd camp their spot. Sometimes I'd wait days, weeks, or months, just so they wouldn't get too suspicious of missing scrolls. Before server down I'd park myself right in the middle of their gathering area. Over time I calculated what time they'd always show up, down to the minute. I'd log in on that minute.

Also: All the while, I began piling up the loot at my tower and added on to the collection whenever I got more. With this, I'd lure new recruits to the tower and up to the collection. After a little chit-chat I'd convince them to open a crate and -- BOOM!

And: I end up using the guild to auction off two of their own scrolls through their own auction, just to see if they'd notice.

Conclusion: In the end, I got to steal from the largest blue guild/alliance on the shard for over a year (basically my entire time on Siege). And I used their treasure to scroll up our guild's own skills and to abuse my own recruits.

Loot:

120 Anatomy
120 Archery
120 Chivalry
120 Focus
120 Parry
115 Anatomy
115 Archery
115 Eval
115 Fencing
115 Meditation
115 Ninjitsu
115 Peacemaking x2
115 Stealing x2
115 Stealth
115 Spellweaving
115 Wrestling
115 Veterinary x2

One More Thing: Ever since I've arrived on Siege, I kept this whole thing secret from everyone on the entire shard, included the people in my guild. I dropped some hints to my guild mates, but every once in a while I'd just show up with more and more scrolls asking if people needed them, keeping my lips sealed. I had to because the slightest hint of it, intentional or unintentional, would screw the whole thing up. Plus, there was no point telling anyone. Except for the Shield of Invulnerability that got away, it was a one man job. The secret's out now, so I've locked down my runes to the location in my tower. Hopefully the others in my guild will check it out every once in a while and make sure no one ever uses that spot for scroll distribution ever again. Or maybe they'll get lucky and pick up even more scrolls. Win-win.

I actually laughed out loud in my classroom while my students were taking a test... that's FANTASTIC!

Chat, I have always admired your persistence in keeping the PvP thief alive when so many changes were made against the PvP thief and I think this has to go down as the Thief of the Year since it took you so long!

I applaud you Sir *claps wildly*

Wow...over a year. It would be hard for me to keep my mouth shut that long about something like that...
A theft of that scale is something for us nubs to aim for :p
Imho...at least honorable mention if not, like Fingers said, theft of the year

I must say, that could be the single best story of what a thief should be since...

Wow, a long time.

Way to go! Keep up the good work.

How could I not believe this from the eminent and famous (infamous?) Chad Sexington? Mention will be made.

Yes, people complain if there aren't screenies and logs and finger-prints and stool samples. But the best thefts are the ones that are never discovered. Never caught. This would be an example.

As an honorable mention, and goal. I here-by include Chad Sexington. Why? For a year-long theft that wasn't discovered until undisclosed by him. I have decided to take this at face value, and include it in this historic record of thieving deeds done and to be emulated.

Huh?

Not sure what you mean. There are about 500 screenshots (and all the finger-prints and stool samples you'll ever want) if you go to the link.

I know. People just complain, is all, and it gets tiresome.
This is quite a theft.
