The best Christmas event I have ever experienced was on The Realm Online.
Fairies in the game were programmed to drop little boxes every so often, and in the boxes you could find different items ranging from unique clothing items to rarer armor pieces.
It was like a scavanger hunt, although granted at times people would just follow the fairies around.
In UO I don't see that being a problem since the game is so large, but if the devs could have monsters drop presents around the world with random gifts it would be interesting I think.
They already have the present boxes. Plus, if you made a variety of both dungeon and above ground monsters drop items the same random loot table, it would be available to all levels of people.
Nothing was more pleasent than running along and finding a box behind a bush in The Realm. Even if the item wasn't something rare, just the reward of finding something like that at random was fun to me.

Thanksgiving is a little tough because it was celebrated already in October in Canada.
Of course, I suppose they could have a two month long event to celebrate it.

This sounds boring. I would settle for a smaller christmas tree one that does not poke threw the floors. A table top model that lights up maybe. But random gifts on monsters or gifts placed around like the pumpkins are now sounds like fun. But a pinata filled with candy that we are getting now for halloween ummmmmm ....no
