<center>IMAGE POSTING AND HOSTING FAQ</center>
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
****, you can read the FAQ for information pertaining to markup tags such as italics, bold, image posting, or url posting.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Image Markup Tag

To save you some time, the correct way to post a picture is to use the [image][/image] markup tag. The proper way to use it is to first get the link to the picture and place it in between the tag like so, [image]http://www.hostingwebsite.com/imagename.fileextension[/image]
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
File Extensions

As far as I know only three file extensions are accepted, that are widely used. They are, jpg, gif, or txt file extensions, I don't believe bmp, or png are supported file formats.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Image Hosting

Before you can post your picture it must be hosted off a server on the internet, not from your local PC. Some sites allow external linking which means that it will appear on the forum in picture form, instead of a link. Sites such as Geocities do not allow external linking and will show up as a red X if placed within the image markup tag. Some forum users have stated that if you replace the file extension from a file hosted off Geocities with .txt, it will be seen while viewing the forum page. To avoid having this problem you can either pay x amount of money for a professional hosting company, or you can use other free sites that allow external linking as well as a decent amount of file space. Some sites that fit this criteria are as follows:

I have tested each of these hosts and they are very reliable and easy to use.
Angelfire
Lycos UK
Homestead (Month Trial Only)
Geocities (May allow external linking with .txt file extension, although bandwith may be exceeded quickly)

These few I have never personally used before, but may work fine:
Boomspeed
Village Photos
Free Serve
Clan Pages (Last I checked it was down, I'm not sure about it.)

There are some preminum payed hosting sites such as:
DB Hosting
Surpass Hosting
Rack Planet
Jatol Hosting
101 Site Hosting

Some internet service providers offer free web hosting. Some of them consist of cable providers such as Comcast or Shaw Cable. (Only two cable providers known to me) Another ISP that provides free hosting is America Online.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Image Post Example

So heres an example of me using my current web hoster, Angelfire.
[*image]http://www.angelfire.com/anime5/icelurker/de.jpg[*/image]
Now thats my link to the image I want to post, but the *s in the markup tag prevents it from showing up. Now when I remove the *s this image is produced.

Thats it from me, I hope you understand it completely now. /php-bin/shared/images/icons/smile.gif
As you can see I am very bored and I have gotten no sleep, goodnight all.

There are two separate housing systems: the normal production system and the test center system. Housing transactions on one of those systems will affect only those houses on that same system. In other words, if you place or are traded a house on a test center shard, that will only affect/condemn other test center houses you have, and it will not affect your normal production shard houses.

Feel free to experiment with housing on the Test Center shard without worrying about your normal production shard houses. :]

The test center housing system sometimes isn't as responsive as the normal production shard housing system. There are sometimes notable delays between double-clicking the house placement tool and the house placement gumps that follow. Placing houses on test center shards can therefore require a little more patience.

There's also periods of time when housing placement &amp; transactions cannot occur at all on a test center shard, but you'll often know you're in one of those specific periods right away thanks to an immediate system message response.

<center>Fonts, Image Converters and Graphics Program Information</center>
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Introduction

This guide, or whatever you may call it deals with explaining how you can begin making your own simple signature. Fonts, photo editing programs, and stratics guidelines regarding signatures will be addressed.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Picture Editing and Creating Programs

These programs can be used to create simple signatures, or complex images. If you just want to make a basic signature then you should probably just use the Paint program that is located on your system.
All of these programs may have trials, but you will end up having to pay for them.

Paint Shop Pro
Adobe Photoshop
Picture It!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Fonts

All of these websites feature free fonts, as well as fonts that may cost money. A font can be a key ingredient in making a signature great.

1001 Fonts (Personal Favorite)
Font Face
1001 Free Fonts
Font Freak
Acid Fonts
Download Free Fonts

These are only the top five and my personal favorite.
If you want to find more of these font sites visit PC Fonts
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Screenshot and UO Image Tools

If you're interested in making a UO related tool, these programs may help you out.

Screenshot Programs:

UO Screenshot Utility (Personal Favorite, completely free)
Capture Express (Trial, then costs)
Screenshot Export (Completely free)
Copyit (Completely free)

UO Image Tools:
Inside UO
UO Character Viewer
UO Super Viewer 2 (Needs Photoshop or other graphics editorial programs)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Graphics Converter Programs

These programs can be used to change the file format for your pictures, whether it be to change the quality of the picture, the size of the image, or to be able to post it on the Stratics forums, where only certain picture formats can be used. Any photo editing program can be used to chang the format of the picture as well. Unfourtanently I could only find trial and pay programs, so if you find anything better tell me!

Graphics Converter Pro
Any Image
Advanced Batch Converter
123 Graphic Converter
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Stratics Guidelines for Signatures

The guidelines set by Stratics for signatures should be followed, for risk of disciplinary actions. These guidelines include, no pornography, vulgar or and ROC violating signatures. Along with the content guidelines, there are also size guidelines and they are as follows.
Maximum size of image file(s): 35k
Maximum height of image(s): 125 pixels
Maximum width of image(s): 600 pixels
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Closing

Ok people thanks for reading, hope this helped you guys out some. This was a nice time waster considering I can't sleep, oh well back to my Cherrios!
