How come the Ilsh LBR castle (on Sonoma at least) is now inaccessible? I've noticed before that the passages near the desert and the volcano get cluttered up, but now it looks like all access to that valley is plugged up in every direction.

No ones knows. There are in fact 2 areas blocked: the area with the ruins of Blackthorn castle, and the Lava area where Exodus dungeon entrance is, and not only are those 2 areas impossible to get in, but they are also blocked from each others.

I have a char logged out in Exodus so I have explored a bit both the dungeon and the outside but haven't noticed anything new.

I remember that on Baja (or it might have been Great Lakes), there used to be a large teleporter pad at the top of the steps to the gargoyle city (Ver Lor Reg) that would transport you to the large open plaza area at the north end of the central Ilshenar plains. A friend showed me the city and that teleporter pad sometime in mid-to-late 2005 and I always assumed the teleporter pad must have come from some old EM event.

I wonder if that teleporter pad is still there and functional? If I recall correctly I think it was a large one, like the one that Draconi placed a few years ago to link the Trinsic and Magincia docks. I just know that whatever it looked like, if I wasn't paying attention and ran up the "wrong" side of the stairs, I'd quickly end up in central Ilshenar and have to run back to the gargoyle city.

Maybe the devs came to their senses and are working to eliminate all evidence of the abysmally stupid decision to pimp out the Ultima franchise to Todd McFarlane's vision of cyborgs and pseudo-steampunk robots.

We are, after all, talking about a person that had a comics villain named Violator, then proceeded to make a 10 or 11 inch tall action figure of that character - and when he found out that a sex toy had the same name and height as his action figure, parodied the text of the trade ads for said artificial phallus in his pre-order ads for said Violator action figure.....
