Good evening, fellas.

I was a long time production shard player on Baja from the early release days up until shortly after T2A. I've recently been looking to get back into the game and decided I'd give Siege Perilous a shot (I despise the very idea of Trammel in this game). I created a new character, starting in Britain, and visited various towns (Luna, Britain, Moonglow, et cetera) and didn't so much as encounter a single player anywhere.

Are the populations really that small these days or did I just visit the wrong areas? Don't get me wrong, I'd love to start playing again, but I am not interested in a single player experience. Any help would be much appreciated.

Regards,
Sophist

The short answer is yes and yes. The population is small. That is a fact. You did visit the wrong places... Are you familiar with general chat? If you are in the help chat that is also the wrong place to be.

Stay with us here in the forum and tell us of the the game you would like to play. Shout out in the general chat in game. We are here... just not where you might think.

Hello, Kelmo.

Just tried out the general chat. There were a few people on whom tried to help me get in touch with the 'NEW' guild. Unfortunately there were no emissaries on. I have to admit, the small player base is not appealing for someone who will be pulling themselves up by their proverbial bootstraps.

If you're still around, send me an icq (4842047) and I can get you into NEW.

I am not here to chase you away from Siege Perilous, but what is wrong with pulling yourself up by the proverbial bootstraps.

Even solo, which you do not need to be, you should be able as an advance player in one month get to know many ppl in play, visit all the dungeons, and
have equipment enough to play your hearts content with the million or so gold you should have collected from monsters. Your template should be finished by then too.

Instant gratis does not happen here. Oh, by the way, no one, and I mean no one lets you win without a great deal of effort.

Please try again and again...

Good luck,

I don't think he is after hand outs...merely wishes to be able to interact and play with other gamers

While Siege's strongest asset is it's community. This is also probally its biggest issue because while getting started on a new shard with ROT and the FEL only ruleset may deter a few folks from staying...the majority leave after working a char up and placing a home because the shard seems so slow

Welcome! If your looking for company while you train, I am sure there are several of us in ROT. We just don't ring out our locations, or at least I don't because all my houses are public and I only wear stealth for PvM. Tho....my aim with the skillet is getting better...

Hey dude give siege a serious try train your character up then go from there you'll discover the player base is a little low but it beats insurance and trammel.

Also the reason you wont find people just hanging out in a general location is because unlike the rest of the shards we have active thieves that can steal from you anywhere. Which is one of the many things that makes this shard the best

agreed. think of siege as them days when you used to pile tons of blessed clothes and spellbooks on top of your house key so that it didnt get stolen then you made your time outside the guard zone scarce to avoiid the pks. only difference is thieves have gotten better with the increase of stealing up to 120 so even towns arent safe anymore.

I have to say give siege a fair shot. Its a lot more fun than prodo IMO
