OK ... whats the deal with lockpicking??

I have been a lp gm for 12+ years and beleave you me it was hard work to do it. Next to my house spawns alot of npc gypsys (fel) those chests are easy! yes?
Well I just failed not once but 3 times to pick a simple chest!!!!!! I'm not happy about that. Not on some lvl 6 chest but a low lvl 3 -4 chest!!!! I'm a bloody GM LP, what gives??

I can see a chance but it just took me 5 trys on one chest in yew crypts south on a lvl 4 chart and 4 on a lvl 3! Thats not a chance that down right nerfing my LP.

I keep using Skeleton keys. I'm getting alot of them and it only uses a charge when the chest opens.

Its not exactly like Lockpicks are hard to obtain or expensive. So you fail a few times, its not like you're having to replace an Imbued weapon each time

And anyway, the Skeleton Keys from the Treasure chests are plentiful. I'm getting loads of them.

Your missing the point, Im a old gm LP. I earned my stripes long ago and dont think I should have to use an outside divice on a lvl 3 chest!!!!

Lockpicking is hell to gm even now. I can see failure on lvl6 this I can handle and have failed a few times on a Masma chest. This is cool. But for a gm on a trainer lvl chest I should still ace them. I am not a happy camper!

Well, turns out that when the patch notes said they made LP success a little easier, they actually had the code listing upside down!

I am sure the will figure out which side is the top real soon!

Easyer my aunt fanny! i just tried my low lp on cats and she was up to lvl 3 chests... now she fails and breaks lockpicks on every try. If this is easyer, I demand to make it harder~pfft. Yes, Thank you Amber Moon. Knowing them they put the code in backwards.

I'm with you on this one. Lockpicking was nicely balanced, imho, no need to tinker with it. Now it's kinda wacky.

(Although it's rather easy to train nowadays, if you utilize the satyrs.)

I'm not pleased. I've had GM for years, and the level 4's that I could do with no issues now fail about 50% of the time. Already broke one of my newbie lockpicks, so I'm very very not pleased. I could understand level 5's, they already were tough, but I just don't see the reasoning to redo the failure rates across the board.

At least my remove trap seems to work the same, hopefully they didn't fudge that up too.

I posted about this problem on July 25 in T-Hunt /fishing forum...

And the answer i was given was none at all..

All Basara said was dex had nothing to do with it anymore...

I found this problem on test centre and reported it there also..

So looks like it was intended????

And out of 40 lvl 4 - 6 maps i found nothing to keep but one of the new sheilds..and a few imbuing poops..

My luck sucks. 8(
