been working on this thief off and on for a year now.

here's what i have:

med 100
mage 110
ninja 100
hide 100
stealth 120
stealing 120
snooping (will be) 100

and i'll still have 20 to 30 points left over...

is the build ok
what to do with the other points? anything useful?

Back in the old days, we'd suggest tracking or item id. Now a days, I'd have to say, look at putting it into necro, I think 30 points is enough to be able to get into wraith form. It's a fun form to have when there are large clusters of players who are looking for hidden players...la

Mostly depends on what kind of thief you want to be. If you don't plan to FIGHT with magery (and no eval) i think med is pretty useless, just use a suit with a bit of mr and lmc. That would apply to siege too, where you could use your single blessing for a mana-friendly artifact like the runebeetle. If your only worry is to get away (using ninjitsu and invis) few points of mana regen and a bit of lmc are enough. Also magery at 110 is probably useless, 92 is enough to cast invis at 100%. 30 necro points for wraith form is certainly useful if you are on siege, but passive detection on prodo make it pretty useless because you cannot use ninja forms while in it, and you cannot leave it while hidden.

I used to role a temp very similar to this and use a 15%dci mage weap, however i dropped the mage as i found it a useless skill(except on my siege thief)

This was due to the fact that you cant cast spells in animal form so couldnt heal or cure on the run, and you CANT CURE OR HEAL ON THE RUN!!!

wiv mage and chiv you have to stop i always found this was enough to have me para ganked (even when i had resist one para spam the other exp, fs, ps poison strike).

Good point. I guess I was thinking from a Siege perspective. He may be better off dropping med and magery and pick up chiv to transport himself around.

You now have an extra 160 points to play with. Take 20 and drop it into ninja, and then 120 into fencing or some other melee skill...la

Siege is a different animal altogether agreed!

I am working one as we speak but this ROT is killing me!!plus im not sure what temp to role with.

I've been working wrestling (disarming is still a lot of fun, especially on Siege), so I can't say that it does or doesn't work. If someone knows, please let the community know...la

My temp on Prodo shards is:

Thief 90 (20shadow legs) = 110 ferret form for heavy items
Stealth 79 (20 legs 11 brace 10 mark) 120
Ninja 100 (10 mark)
109 wrestle (115 atm no 120)
gm alchemy
gm hiding
gm snoop

think the rest is in sw

i will say the wrestle dci is awesome usefull! no moving shot archers woot! i dont plan to hang around to disarm altho that and para is one of the reason i chose it!

alchemy with a 50% citrine i heal about 50hp per pot and gain and extra 40hp from str

Because people can only bless one item on Siege, I find quite a few players will run around without a blessing on their weapon. It's still fun to stalk a mark, and then take their only weapon right out of their hands. I wish the devs would bring back the ability to disarm shields. I collected about 30 of them before they fixed it, lol. Right now I'm at 81.1 wrestle. I'm not sure how high to take it, I rarely miss a disarm attempt. All I need is one shot, then hit my steal last item macro, and BLAMO...The chase has begun. The fact that there are so few mages on Siege makes this so much better...la

hmmm that sounds like a definate addition to my siege temp then!!

im not sure how much you would need on siege after all hiting 45 DCI must be almost impossible and im not sure of the passive dci for wrestle.

Parry might also be something to look at. You are correct with building up dci. Unless you have a jewel that gives a lot of it, it's tough, especially as thief, since you really won't be running around with a shield.

Please note, I do run around with 115 magery (I think that's what it's locked at) with a no penalty mage weapon. If I end up near a bunch of fighters, I can throw the swords on to avoid some of their hits...la

Alot more thought is needed for siege!

I completely forgot you need high magery to be able to travel!!

Back to the drawing board! (at least i know i need stealth hiding stealing and snooping!)

Yes it does. The nice thing is...soulstones have really helped. I used to switch around my template all the time. Since I started Siege I have played thief temps...

Mage (eval, med)
Fencer (fencing, poison)
Tamer (tame, lore)
Disarmer (wrestle or the old wrestle arms lore)
100% runner (resist and parry)

...and a ton of others, but before soulstones, I would raise and lower skills as needed since I only played with one account. Now with soul stones, I can mix and match skills as I see fit. One of these days, I am going to have to raise taming and animal lore again. That is a fun template to play...la
