what is there in uo if you have all the gold you need and all your toons are trained?

Uo needs to delete all the ingame supra Items and limit home sizes to players with older account. The older the account the larger the home you can have.
Homes should be built one brick at a time.
2 account per customer.
More Player/players run towns/communities.
all Gold holding above 50 Million per account needs to be deleted.
Example: if you own 200 million gold, it would be reduced to 50 Million.
the point is to dramatically reduce the over abundance of gold still in the game.
Need much more drama in Tramble- some how they need to interact with felucca. Ingame drama should come from players, not from ingame events.
NPC should only sell what Players sell them! Npc's shouldn't have a stock pile of instant supply 999 ever!
Recalling/gate shouldn't be discontinued or make it very expensive.
Skill Cap should 100
Speed should be the same for all players, regardless of type of connection.
Speed shouldn't be enhanced for spawn every thing should be on the somewhat on the same speed.
Your Vendors shouldn't need to charge for selling your Items after paying the price to get the vendor.
Your Toon Must need to eat often or die.
Drinking wine should completely impede your ability to do anything ingame until your sober.
pof needs to be deleted with alot of other new items.
Inlor/nite sight needs to be changed.

You need to take an economics class or never get into business for yourself. If EA did this then the rest of your list would be worthless because EA would shut down. A lot of people have 2 or more accounts. I had 4 until last night, now I am at 3 and I know some with a lot more. They have kids that play.

Even if you deleted all the gold in the game, it would make no diffference without also changing the loot tables to give less gold upon creature death. As it stands now, if there was a gold wipe, it wouldn't take all that long to get right back to where we are now.

:bdh: as usual... and added some more "lets make this more like real life bs".

Its a game get over it, what you have listed up there will more likely kill the game instead of making anything better.

I disagree with most of your post.

1. Create reasons to spend gold.
2. Establish a completely random realm of exploration and adventure.

Thats all that needs to be done.

Well aside from fixing, dupes, cheats, scripting, and imbalances.

But 1 and 2 is a start.

FINITE is the word of the day.

I just left what I DO agree with. The rest of your "ideas" would basically kill the game. Don't want to build my house one brick at a time, but the Horizons system was okay. You could add from as little as one resource to what you could carry at a time and fellow players could also contribute to the building of your structures. It was very cool to log in and find new progress. I always appreciated that and helped others when I could.

Assumption 1.
The game can tell how much gold is on the shard.

Now take the amount of gold dropped on monsters and make it a percentage of all the gold in the game.

Now take the cost for NPC items and make it a percentage of the total gold in hte game.

Assumption 2.
The game can decrease or increase loot drop gold based on a formula.
The game can adjust prices up or down on NPCs based on a formula.

Some one knows an equation to determine base balance gold. That is what is deemd appropriate for SHARD. Let say just for point. 1 billion total gold per shard.
Stray up on total shard gold and prices go up and gold drop drops.
Stray down and prices go up and gold drop increase.

A self balancing economy.

Assumption 4
They will create more reason to spend gold.

Just have to use the ol trade n barter system.. =).

Maybe the monster populace would start having less and less gold as time goes on.. and stops short of zero.. some fictional element that replenishes their supply? Monster AI is driven by a lust for shiny objects.. mayhaps monsters would seek out other monsters for their shinees? (or animals for food if they get hungry..)

Any thoughts on a WoW type currency system? Maybe change current gold into "copper" and add a "silver" and a "gold" for larger denominations? And monsters would spawn with a less, appropriate amount?

Just because you've trained the skills doesn't mean you can't build anything new. If you think that the characters finished when you have the skills where you want them then your missing out on a lot of this games variety.

Aside from just the templates theres usually at least two different ways to play every template.

Having all the gold you need just means you can build even more intresting templates, some are item dependant some aren't.

I felt like I'd seen all there was to see as far as magery goes when I hadn't PvP'd. Learning PvP often gets taken in the wrong way, it isn't about going and having a fight (or any of the over dramatic scripting/hacking stuff that usually gets said about it), it's about understanding the other half of the game. If you learn to PvP you realise where every skill point counts, where every stat point should be and that also opens up a lot more template choices. Some people hear PvP and think red speedhackers using scripts and gimpy templates, rational people should be able to see that their 'gimpy template' isn't anything every player can't do, it's just a matter of knowing what skills and at what levels. Thats before you even get on to actually how to play it, how to set it up.

Er - I think the Devs should have done something more dramatic with the spring cleaning along the lines as some sort of shard vote based on what button you use to allocate your tickets. I doubt it would have been as drastic as a button to slect a land shard-wipe, remove all gold wipe but it could have been a way for shard populations to diffentiate themselves.

Um no on majority of those suggestions. Each person plays differently and for different amounts of time, just because a person has paid for an account for x amount of years doesn't mean they have played x amount of hours, why punish the 3 year old player for playing non stop and earning enough to buy a castle, or stop the lucky newbie that manages to place a keep. This game is what you make it.

This is the situation I found myself in on my Home Shard. Over 100m gold, artis, fully trained characters, etc.... I got bored. Incredibly bored doing the same things over and over.

I started playing on another shard and have 3 new characters there. I also am building a Character on Siege.

Aye, I dont disagree with you packrat.. However,
I do run my own business btw... not to brag but I do fairly well.

The changes thru the years have shaken out a lot of players.. I hated to see leave.

Im just being provocative in the matters of improving a broken UO.

Maybe the accounts idea needs nerfing. lol

You know, the game is a LOT more fun if you don't powertrain your characters, and actually advance through normal gameplay....

I have never had more than 20 million gold on my 3 accounts combined. That gold was immediately sunk into a 120 Magery scroll (that cost 18 million gold at the time), after 4 years of playing a mage stuck at 115. I just got back up to 10 million gold for the first time since, then immediately spent 8 million of it on the 120 Eval scroll for that mage.

2 of my warriors have been complete for 3 years, but I've never not had fun playing them for reasons other than connection issues.
my 3 main crafters are finished, but that hasn't impaired my ability to enjoy them.
I have 2 Samurai, a stealther (non-combat) and a couple other characters that I'm slow-training this way, and trust me, actually going out and doing is a lot more fun than fast-training up skills with golems and packies.

More people should try it sometime.

Im a hord, Jonnie tight wade- a Picker- every once in a while, I will load up the wagons and head into town to spend 500k to 2M.

as stagflation seems to be the trend, the game excitement is much less.
