to add to the "not sure if serious" an alliance mate called me in earlier saying someone was down with cora so I went in to raid, he was farming her with a GD and had her health pretty low solo...the second I got close I didn't even have time to react, cora did....something...and we both died instantly from full health. (it kinda looked like the animation from the "bombard" spell...but strong enough to oneshot even most pets) Whatever she did hit me for over 150 damage through a 70's suit (no slayer equipped, only pvp equip, i was full health when attacking him), wiped him out as well, and looked like it took a good 250-300 HP off of the GD as well...and it was INSTANT. So it looks like with her at least you can't really do it in a group, so unless you're a disco-tamer right now there's not a whole lot of reason to visit the innermost parts of covetous, the stuff is ridiculously overpowered towards dexxers/mages.

If this level 4 critters would drop some specials every kill, it would be worth the time... and if they would drop 30k gold something maybe too and it would count as a gold sink strategy...but NOT for 900 gold and 7 artis to unravel to fight it for 1 hour solo with a GD on a not 100% lrc suit using regs and bandaids with 2200 luck without statue...

I am still not able to confirm an Arti drop as you get from Cora...maybe its same kind as doomchances for a drop, say 1in30 maybe...who knows...

If you plan to waste time, Covetous Level 4 critters is a good way to now i say....at least until the first arti drops in my pack and is glasses or the shield (human version)

Same goes for Void Pool...you can see on the list of participents for total scoreboard, how many still do.this...its fun for 1 hour than moat peps.leave....and come back maybe 3 days.later....

Rewards should be one thing to overthink..not only thenkind of reward, also the system behind how to get it...

cora did....something...

Cora has the Crystal Hydra breath attack I think, which sends out a firebreath for every one target in a given area. Each firebreath does 60 damage, so given three targets I assume she'd do 180 instantaneous damage.

I bet that tamer was pissed, hehe. It's a pretty interesting concept to make a creature that is easier to kill w/ fewer people, but then again, it's pretty anti-MMO to have an open peerless which will fail given more players (LOS exploits aside).

Actually, if you read some of the threads about Cora you'll find they're telling tamers to stay away. I understand on most shards she's being done with a combination of dexxer, disco bard and healers standing back.

I dunno, i guess if her range is limited and the healer/bard were pretty far away that might work, but doesnt the bard need to be pretty close to keep disco up? Looked like a GD tanking her is a much better choice as you dont have 180 damage fireballs flying your way.

Shes not worth it....any strategy...they messed up the drops and kind of arti you get...next publish they will change things...who wants to counterbet?

I've not been myself, so I'm only going by what I've read in this thread: Defeating Cora | Page 2 | Stratics Forums and what I've seen in general chat.

Last comment I saw in general chat on Europa last night was 'who brought that (expletive) cu?' They're doing her with a dexxer tanking, a bard discoing, if possible a necro casting corpse skin and a couple of healers standing back - and going further out when the blue floor cracks appear. Tamers are distinctly unwelcome in the mix.

In circumstances where pets get special consideration by Devs, especially perma stat loss, couldn't they use those little "Quarantine" Signs? - except this time they actually mean something?
People have asked for this ... "stuff never wears out" - GD=stuff, SURPRISE! now go get a new one and get that cripple outta here.

and to the other OP's comment about being 'Insta-Killed', a similar comment... being a regular on Stratics, see if any of these sound familiar
"unless you have a mage/dexxer/tamer template, you can't play the content" - this excludes everyone equally it seems
"Dungeons are too easy" - hard now? like the 'old days'?
"scripters are in there farming" - they still in there?
"What's the quickest time to solo <named mob>?" - solo is being phased out it seems
"I can pretty much solo anything in the game" - go for it now, we're waiting for your story, our Hero
"Dungeons are a cakewalk" - yeah, you're the cake, how's it feel to be eaten?

erm, it's players telling tamers stay away. I don't believe there is any intended perma stat loss for pet.

It makes no sense to attack Cora with a Pet - thats what players say - and they are right - you can still do it if you use the attack, die, walk out of dungeon, get rezed, walk in, hide trick - so you still get looting rights if she goes down - but than you still need people to heal your pets while you absent - only range healing - and if you do that she turns on you most of the time so more dead people...

Its ok for me, i dont complain, its not easy and you have to think how you can beat her, with a group, and if you need a other template ok hope you got one and go for it - its not bad at all for me....

Its the time/fun/reward ratio that isnt stable here - and back to the topic of this post - it isnt for Level 4 critters too - its kinda like in business - i dont use 1 hour to talk to clients about a 500 Euro PC-Config to come out with a 25 Euro Gross Profit after i MAYBE sold it - thats no fun too - and no profitable reward...

I would understand if Level 4 Covetous critters with that stats and Cora have a 25% drop rate of something special every time you kill it...like a special armor piece as this thieve drops in the Tomb of Kings - hell it can even be ephemeral, cursed, whatever - now its more 1% chance for a drop of 90% not so interresting artis, i have the feeling...on stuff that mostly can open doors and is faster than any PvP guy on speedhack...

So thats why i asked: Not sure if serious?

Wasn't it stated they put in a "few surprises"? So what were these?
Pet Stat loss may or may Not be permanent, do we know yet? Devs read the boards, so they know it's happening. A permanent nurf to a pet is pretty darn major, and I think everyone will agree, but without a post saying oops. I have to believe it's intended. Why couldn't it?

Surprises are usually something good. Permanent stat loss on a pet would not be considered a surprise. It's a bug. - The surprises are in level 1, and if you read the devs posts they've told us what some of them are - the vampire mongbats have a very unusual AI for one.

I'd say its most definitely a surprise since no one knew about it via patch notes or dev info or tc info.

It's kinda like the surprised feeling you get when you are in court thinking you're going to get off with probation and the Judge sentences you to 25yrs. SURPRISE!
