my computer will not allow me to run VENT or UOAM..it crashes every time it is installed..it goes to a blue screen..and since I do not like blue..I do not run either...And yes I have had the Geek Squad to look over the machine, since I bought it from Best Buy..they found nothing wrong with the machine...So, it has to be me...*sobs*

Nuriko, Shak is right. If you have to have a blue screen of death (BSOD), a reproducible one is the best kind to have. It is the intermittent ones that happen often enough that they can't be ignored which make me want to poke my eyeballs out with a letter opener while troubleshooting. The STOP message on the blue screen can help trace the problem. It is a pain in the neck to write it down, but you need that info.
What are your system specs? The operating system, processor type/speed, and RAM? (You can find this info by right clicking My Computer, choosing Properties from the menu, and then clicking on the General tab.)
If you are using Windows XP, and the Geek Squad didn't at least configure your PC to create a crash dump file, and advise you to bring it back the next time it occurred so they could analyze the file you got seriously crummy tech support.
