...
As I was laying down and let sleep overtake me, I had one of those "creative moments" where an idea just forms in your head and goes on its own natural course, so I grabbed my netbook and started getting as much of it down as I could... here's what I came up with so far:
Smashing Pumpkins, a Fall UO event
During the fall/Haloween Publish, pumpkins spawn in the various fields. These pumpkins have the possibility of containing various goodies inside, so how to get them out? By smashing them of course. To smash a pumpkin, a character must have a War Hammer equipped. By double clicking (or putting the war hammer in a hotbar slot or on a macro) the war hammer, a target will come up. Then by clicking on the pumpkin, the pumpkin will be smashed into pieces and potentially something extra
Pumpkin Goodies:
Pumpkin Seeds
Most pumpkins will contain a small number of pumpkin seeds. The seed can then be taken to a character with the Cooking skill to be "roasted". The cook roasts the seeds with one of several potions or ingredients to obtain a certain effect when completed. If a potion is used, each potion can roast up to 25 seeds.
Strength Potion + 1-25 Pumpkin Seeds + cooking tool + fire = Strengthened Roasted Pumpkin Seed(s)
Agility Potion + 1-25 Pumpkin Seeds + cooking tool + fire = Nimbly Roasted Pumpkin Seed(s)
Refresh Potion + 1-25 Pumpkin Seeds + cooking tool + fire = Refreshingly Roasted Pumpkin Seed(s)
(Note: Need something to give the Intelligence bonus effect)
Strengthened Roasted Pumpkin Seed: +1 to Strength for 1 hour per seed consumed. Up to 10 seeds may be consumed at once for a cumulative +10 to Strength. Note that this cannot take Strength above the 150 cap. (Should +10 be the max or should it be unlimited up to 150 or maybe a higher number like 25?)
Nimbly Roasted Pumpkin Seed: +1 to Dexterity for 1 hour per seed consumed. Same rules as Strength above
Refreshingly Roasted Pumpkin Seed: +1 Stamina Regeneration for 1 hour per seed consumed. Cumulative levels and caps needed here as well.
Other possibilities of course are Intelligence, Mana Regen, and HP Regens.
Then of course the pumpkins could hold other things, but that was as far as I had gotten before I was too sleepy to continue.
