Greetings Everyone,

I am happy to announce we will be publishing Publish 96 to our Japanese shards tonight during their normal maintenance and the US shards will receive it during their normal schedule maintenance times. We appreciate all the great feedback we have received from everyone, please keep it coming.

February's Dev Meet and Greet schedule this month will be Siege Perilous on February 13th at 7pm ET and Mizuho on February 27th at 9 am ET. We look forward to seeing everyone there.

We want to wish everyone in Britannia a happy Valentine's Day! For those love birds who want to tie the knot we have a new item in the Ultima Store, the Wedding Package. You can check out more details about the Wedding Package below!

You will soon see a new Event Moderator on Oceania, Chesapeake, and Siege Perilous, so please welcome them to your shards when you see them.

We are well underway working on Publish 97. The major feature release for Pub 97 is the long anticipated pet revamp. More details will be available as we move through the development process, up front I can tell you we have new creatures to tame, new ways to train and customize pets, and new viable options for pets beyond just a greater dragon!

On a final note I want to let everyone know that we are checking popular areas for those that are unattended macroing. If a GM appears I highly suggest you speak to him immediately, this will be your only advanced warning.

1. What is an acceptable time limit between a Game Master talking to you and you answering before you are assumed that you are unattended macroing?

You have approx 5 seconds from the time the GM talks to you to answer him. All GM's will become visible which should indicate to you that they are there for a reason.

2. A player from Izumo asked if we could give out water tiles.

No we will not be giving out water tiles but we are going to come up with a few small pond designs to give out in the future.

3 . A player from Izumo asked if we could put the bone containers back this coming Halloween back in the game.

Sure that is simple to do, we will be happy to add those for this upcoming Halloween.

4. A player from Izumo asked if we could put in craftable wooden walls.

Yes we can add that to a future publish but our schedule is pretty tight so do not expect it anytime soon.

5. A player from Izumo asked if we could add the ability to search for Auction Safes in the vendor search.

Since I've developed the habit of commonly sitting sideways at the keyboard I'll likely do a panicked run around as a reaction while getting turned to the keyboard.

You will get a reaction within five seconds.

5 seconds is a bit short lol. If you are fighting something it is easy not to notice stuff in your jnl. I have guildies talking to me and I don't 'notice' for at least 30 seconds sometimes. Not to mention my ping of 280 means my 5 secs would probably be up before it even registered on my screen.

I too may have focus on ICQ or streaming TV on my other screen while making bolt of clothers with UOA macro'es. 5 sec seem to be very short time.

to be honest I would be surprised if this was more than much ado about nothing. Have you ever waited less than an hour when you paged for a GM lately? I doubt they have the capacities to spend time roaming the land, looking for people who appear to be afk and deal with them. Check favorite afk scripting locations? Ok, that I believe, but monitoring every house if people are not responsive within 5 seconds is simply too time consuming (unless they really only spend 6 seconds there: say hello, wait 5 seconds, ban haha).

Actually they could wind up banning a lot of us over and over with a limit of five seconds. Been taking note of things I do while during my play sessions that take my attention off the game window for longer than five seconds. Run out of beverage? Pause play, reach for the bottle of water, refill your glass, reach for the instant coffee or tea, open it, put a bit in your new glass of water, close it and put it back where you keep it, stir the powder in, add sweetener, less than a minute total pause in play doing something so harmless and look back at the screen to restart active play and you've been banned. Got the sniffles? Reach for the box of tissues, grab one, blow, toss it in the trash can, turn back to the game, your banned. Your child asks Daddy a question, you look at him and talk to him briefly, turn your head back to the game, and find you've been banned. Shoot, play late hours, stretch, yawn, think briefly about going to bed, nah, you'll play a while longer, but no you won't, you've been banned during that brief loss of attention on the game. This could be a game killer.

I'm with Max on this. I don't think it'll be an issue, with the exception of the scripters that are being paged on. That being said, if your out and about and need to go afk just stop what your doing until your back at the keyboard. They won't do anything to you if your just standing there.
