[News] The Cultural Exchange Program

<div> <table width="100%" border="0"> <tr> <td colspan="3"> <p align="center"><font size="6">The Siege Perilous Cultural Exchange Program</font></p></td></tr> <tr> <td></td> <td>This weekend sees the launch of a new program designed to build the community.
Sponsored by EA, the program works as follows:

Guild leaders may apply to join the program, providing they agree to comply by the fine print, which will be made available on the application form.
Once a guild is accepted to the program, a partner guild will be selected for them.
The two guilds will then exchange guild leaders for one month.

I volunteered to help with the beta testing of this new program, and entered as the co-guildleader of NEW.
To my surprise, the program was so new that the only other beta tester at that point in time was Wyrm.

In accordance with the program rules, we both made sure we understood the day to day running of each other's guilds, and set off to test the program. After an hour with Wyrm, I was calling people insolent, and telling them to regret themselves as if I'd been born... er... died to the role!

He, on the other hand had a few teething problems with his new role.

Firstly, he found it rather difficult to approach newcomers to the shard in peace and quiet.
His initial attempt, which consisted of standing in Luna, looking at the passing people, met with disaster when several insolent blues...*ahem* sorry, several citizens, set about him with pitchforks and runebeetles.

Undeterred, he tried again, and again. He was last seen being chased out of Cove by an angry mob of fishermen.

Meanwhile, I tried to rally the vampires behind my leadership. This proved difficult. They did not consider me worthy of the role. So, in order to comply with the rules, I tracked Wyrm down, and just as he had convinced a group of five newcomers to the shard to follow him to the NEW guildhouse, I sprang from the bushes and bludgeoned them to death with my pickaxe.
Wyrm was less than impressed. Apparently the combined forces of I^A, WAKA, REV, DTA, CWS and KSS have called off their other fights, and are scouring the lands for me as I write. It's a good thing no one can find me hidden in the underground chamber in Umbra. Oops.

Finally red, I returned to Homare, and managed to round up a few vampires. Naturally, a change in wardrobe was needed. It's impossible to be evil wearing my usual NEW recruitment outfit. A quick trip to the hairdresser helped as well, and, for the finishing touch, I had my KSS Silver Serpent dyed red.

The other vampires were extremely pleased to find that I had legendary tailoring skills, and we spent the afternoon devising various creative looking curses to leave around the land, in addition to the usual black cloth and twigs. I was particularly proud of the two-screen wide zebra devouring a mongbat, but, as Krystal pointed out, the only people likely to spot it were the GMs.

Onwards to the Swoops! There, we found several insolent blues farming the overgrown parrot, and, despite a little resistance from the local pixies, we showed them the error of their ways. They will repent, whether they like it or not! I'm starting to acquire a taste for blood, too. It's not bad, particularly with chillies.

Meanwhile, the program was expanding. Pyrite found herself leading EOD, much to Katharine's dismay, and DTA were less than amused to find SpyderBite had taken over the leadership. Loud clanging noises were heard coming from Katharine's house, so I felt it best not to interview there. SpyderBite, in the meantime, seemed to have found Pyrite's crafting supplies, as well as the liquor cabinet, as a large army of very wobbly golems was seen marching on the Britain tailor shop this afternoon.

Similarly, Yasou suddenly found himself in the unenviable position of leading KSS against WAKA. However, as he was privy to all their battle plans, WAKA were shortly dispatched by the unbeatable team of Yasou and Miranda. Daan Mor arrived 30 seconds too late, after the last WAKA fell. Py Lethius was not on the battlefield, as he had been distracted by Yasou's extensive oriental swords collection, but I'm sure he will rally the troops for a rematch! Insolent blues. Er, reds. Er. That lot.

Meanwhile, Shalimar, unaware of the exchange (I really should have told her) returned to the NEW guildhouse to find Wyrm giving the survivors of my massacre fencing lessons. She is likely to be in therapy for at least a month.

So, if you're interested in the new program, head over to the uo.com website, and apply! Every participating guild gets one million gp, and a year's free game time for every member.

And, for the one remaining person who has read this far and still believes every word of it....

Happy April Fool's Day!

Of course ! HAHAHA

That man vowed he would silence me and some how in our defeat make us bow to him and phoney Lord British. Thus I had to make a point with the shogun..point taken he fathomed even DEAD I can not be silenced ever ! So I guess he was just so awe struck by my flower garland and female verbiages of nonstop talking that he had no recourse left whatsoever, but to SUBMIT TO MY WILL or I would talk, at him for forever ! !

Hee hee. Kelmo, I think you've got your next poll question:

"Which two guilds would you most like to see exchange members?/leaders for a month?"

( Of course, the 'winners' of the poll would have to actually do it. )

*cheers* Loved it!

Wyrm giving fencing lessons to NEW... now that's hilarious since he used to be a legendary swordsman *chuckles*.

I agree!!!

Personally.. I'd like to see the following..

Exchange #1: Kelmo &amp; Yasou
(Perhaps me and Aeric can win a couple fights while Waka is under Kelmo's leadership on the field.
)

Exchange #2: SpyderBite &amp; Shad
(Lets face it.. who wouldn't want Kat of TnT under their control for a month?
)

Exchange #3: Grot &amp; WyRm
(There is no way Grot would put up with any crap from those kiddies in VmP.. It'd be like Lou Gossit Jr. in an Officer and a Gentleman.. "Where you from Idico?? Oklahoma? Only thing that comes from Oklahoma are steers and.. ")

Who's next?

i was thinking.....

Py Lythius...er no, Siofra (who leads KSS now?) and wyrm

or

Kelmo and Enigma
Can you image Kelmo leading the bastages? And Enimga running Iantown?! It would burn down!

or

Skylark and the GM of CCC (The Great Elf?)
Skylark leading a guild of fighters?

OOh -ooh!

WyRm and Aeric. What happens when a "hard core" RPer leads VmP?
Although I do fear for MYTH under those circumstances.

Wulf and Shalimar!

Revvo and Skylark!

Freja and Grot! (not funny, I'd just like to see two strong, but very different, leaders swap positions and see what happened. Morbid curiosity, perhaps.)

and, of course -

Pappy Joe (although I can't remember the names of your old guilds PJ - sorry!) and Kelmo!

I think WyRm RPs in battle quite a bit more than I do...
but I guess /oOOOooOo oOOo OO oOoo? is staying in character pretty well right now.

Cheers!

Wulf and Shalimar that would be hilarious. Now as far as Freja leading CWS, I know she means well and etc etc but thought of her leading my guild, just scares the to the point of running from computer and ending up in a padded room.

Wrym &amp; Grot would be hilarious too, I could just imagine Wrym trying his darndest to get me to listen to him! HAHAHAHA, hell, I don't listen to Grot and he's my husband and don't get me started with the rest of my guild, we still try to play pin the arrow on the Cranky Old Fart (Grot) after each promotion ceremony. I think we would scare Wrym either a) blue or b) scare him completely off and he never log on to Siege again.
