Maps & Locations
Undoubtedly every player has found themselves both lost and wondering where am I or off for adventure and wondering how do I get there, or if wanting to hunt a particular monster, "where do I find it?". UOStratics is pleased to provide an excellent guide to locations, with a zoomable map feature including coordinate entry feature. We would like to show you some of the how to of this feature.
On the UOStratics home page you will notice menu items on either side of the page. On the right side you will find the Maps & Locations. Click on that link and it will expand to give you options of maps/locations to view (below left).

From this main menu you can navigate to specific location information. Today we will explore Atlas - Complete Guide, Treasure Maps and Zoomable Map (above right).
Atlas - Complete Guide

The Atlas is accessed by clicking on Maps & Locations, then Atlas - Complete Guide. The page displayed gives you explanation of what you will find on each of the location pages.

Once you select your destination, or area of interest, from the menus located on either side of the page, click the link and the page with specific information is presented.

This page includes Sextant Coordinates, UOAutomap Coordinates, Facets the locations can be found, Closest Gate and Inhabitants. Clicking on the Sextant or UOAM coordinates will take you to the zoomable map which we will explore later in this post. This atlas is cross-referenced in our Hunter's Guide, under the field 'Found At'. For example a Corel Snake lists that it can be found at Corel Desert

The second menu item under Maps & Locations is:
Treasure Maps

From the Maps & Locations menu click Treasure Maps. This opens the Treasure Hunters of Britannia Treasure Map Archive.

If you hover over the map with your cursor you will find general destinations for treasure maps. By clicking on one of those locations (Cove, etc) you will open a numbered location map and from there, by clicking on a pin (numbered map), a more detailed map will open showing coordinates.

Now that you have the coordinates of your treasure map destination, a nice way to find the exact location would be handy! You are in luck, we just happen to have:
Zoomable Map

From the Maps & Locations menu, click Zoomable Map. The following page opens:

If you click on the map, it will zoom to that location and give you the coordinates:

Or if you are someplace, maybe lost (not that we would know anything about such an occurrence) and have your sextant, you can double click your sextant, put the coordinates into the zoomable map and find your way to civilization. Ok, maybe it isn't all that dramatic but it works!

Thanks to all the Stratics staff and supporters who contributed to make the Maps & Locations such a complete and useful part of UOStratics. We hope it is of help to our you, our readers, as you seek adventure in Sosaria.

Yes these maps have saved my behind many times over and over. They are one of the best resources on the UO Stratics page IMO.

If you don't have a sextant but do happen to be running UO Assist with the legacy client, just type "-where" to find out the coordinates for your position.

I didn't know that! Thanks Tina.
One of the reasons to do these features is to draw attention to some of the resources available that people may not realise we have. The spawn maps being, I think, the least known. You can look up a location and find out what spawns there, or you can look up a creature and see where to find it.
