Baja's Monster Mash Weekend​

Friday, October 31, the Halloween Storytelling Event kicked off the start of the Monster Mash weekend.

We were gated to creepy old house in Felucca, where volunteers were asked to tell their scary stories.

Llama [M!S] was the first to share a spooky story. Then Lord Shovel [DWN], James [MT], and Betsy Rosette all put shivers up and down our spines with their tales of terror.

Thanks to a generous donation from Mrs Fields and CTDM guild, 500,000 gold checks were presented to James and Lord Shovel as the audience's choices for best stories.
Then Lady WildStar, Grand Duchess of Dawn, related a story she'd heard when she was undergoing mage training.

WildStar had us all on the edges of our seats when she said:
"The magic power you invoke when casting a spell does not get used up.
You pull it from the ether, and when you fail, it goes back to the ether in a slightly altered form.
One student many years ago tried to harness this energy. He managed to access it but was unable to stabilize it.
It is said that on the spot of his experiment, a creepy, creaky house will appear out of nowhere. The house is said to be near a long road between two cities in the northern part of the realm."
Many of us noticed that we were in a creepy, creaky house that was situated on the long road between Vesper and Minoc!
WildStar told of a group of weary travelers who had found such a house while seeking refuge from a severe storm. As the evening passed into night and then into morning, the travelers realized the house was disappearing before their eyes!

As she got to the point in the story that tells, "The snow was swirling everywhere in what remained of the house. The party quickly gathered their gear and left the house. As the last person left the house, it disappeared and the snow and wind suddenly stopped.", the house we were in disappeared, just like the house in her story!!

Those attending gathered up gold, decor, and many fine items to keep as mementos of their trip to a house that was no longer there.

On Saturday, November 1, 2008, join us on Baja after Whispering Rose Radio's Deal or No Deal UO Style which will take place on Sonoma and starts at 3 PM PST (6 PM EST). The events on Baja start out with a Naked Graveyard Crawl hosted by Oriana from Almost Famous Knights (AFK). This event will start at 5 PM PST (8 PM EST) and will take place in Trammel at an undisclosed location. After this event, gates will be provided to the Treasure Fun House in Malas, where you will have a chance to run the maze and find the prizes inside the house. We would like to thank Evelyn Marie & Capt Covetour for letting us use their house and providing the prizes in it.

Finally on Sunday, November 2, 2008, there will be a Scavenger Hunt hosted by Lil Debi and chocalot from TAO. It will start at 7 PM PST (10 PM EST) and you will have 30 minutes to find the items. The final event is a Halloween Ball and Costume Contest from 8 PM to 9 PM PST (11 PM to Midnight EST). Music will be provided by Whispering Rose Radio. Your costume can only be made using in-game items: clothing, armor, weapons, masks, savage kin paint, etc. The use of spells such as polymorph or reaper form and Ninjstu animal form will not count as a costume.
