WildStar, Grand Duchess of Dawn, began the events with an opening speech at the Best Shot In The Realm:
"Once upon a time there was a guild called the Guardians of Virtue (GoV). They wore clothes of a light blue color and had a small house just outside of the northern gate of the Britain Cemetery. You would find them with members of others guilds such as Digital Party (DP), Dark Knights of Justice (DkoJ) and Savage Truth (ST).
Britain became too crowded and GoV moved to the island of Ocllo. The small house was located two screens northwest of that city. Ocllo has little flat land available for housing, so another location was needed to expand. Eventually the area east of Dungeon Wrong was decided upon to be the location of the city, we were planning – The Kingdom of Dawn. Avalon, The City of Destiny, was a short walk to the northwest.
The first building was either what is now the Merchant Hall or one of the Mining Center Houses. The guild stone was purchased, placed in the Dawn Tower and members of GoV transferred to the Kingdom of Dawn guild stone except one person to preserve the Guardians of Virtue name.
Dawn officially became a player-run city on February 11, 1999 but we started building the city in February of 1998. Since that time we have had periods of great activity to include battles with Dark Tower, a Seer Quest, and periods of inactivity. We are currently in a active period and it doesn’t appear to have an end in sight.
Tonight we start out with an archery tournament tribute to the Society of Archers [S|A] Best Shot in the Realm (BSR) Monthly Tournament."
With a starting field of 20 archers, the archery buttes were tended by NANOC of DWxC [PaxLair] and Nicholas the Old [BRPA], as WildStar kept score and called the contestants to the line when it was their turn to compete.
In the first round, Bucko received a consolation prize of 1-million gold (which he donated back to the prize fund to be given to the winner), a quiver, a statue engraved 'Dawn 11th Anniversary Tournament - 2/13/2009', and a white poppies grown by Brother Anthos [DWN] for being the first person disqualified from the tournament.
18 of the starting 20 archers advanced to Round 2, which proved to be another close round.
16 advanced to Round 3, the most brutal round of all. Some blamed the low scores on the wind. WildStar took a moment to flamestrike the buttes, as if she suspected they were being inhabited by daemons.
Only 4 contestants, chocalot [TAO], Llama [M!S], AHEBBAN [M!S], and PoePoe [M!S], survived to advance to Round 4. Each needed to shoot a perfect score of 200 to advance to the Championship Round.
Llama [M!S] and PoePoe [M!S] were the only two archers to make it all the way to the Championship Round.

PoePoe [M!S] was named Best Shot in the Realm for the Kingdom of Dawn's 11th Anniversary Tribute to the Society of Archers BSR, and received 6-million gold (1-million of that was donated to the winner by Bucko), a statue engraved 'Best Shot in the Realm - Dawn Archery Tournament', and a white poppies grown by Brother Anthos [DWN].
