The Felucca Residents forum is set aside as a ruleset and not a landmass. It is my hope that this forum (without the smack-talk, etc.) will provide the developers a place to come and see issues - without having to wade through dozens of ego-posts. I hope it will add to the voice of those that prefer to live their lives in Felucca.

PVP issues fall under the Felucca Residents forum. But a typical PVP thread generally means board-pvp and 99% of the time it seems that quickly ends up going outside of our ROC. The ROC is not changing.

First, I reject the notion that there is nothing to discuss about Felucca.

Second, I think perhaps Stratics should put forth a procedure by which users can propese "special interest group" forums. This way, PvPers can have their forums, Feluccans can have theirs, People who only RP drunk pirates can have theirs etc. But, there should also the the option of removing the forum after a probationary period if it just isn't working out.

There used to be a lot more prof. forums than there are now including a murderer forum (waves to Firesong). Looks like at some point they consolidated. Maybe they can expand again.

Equating Felucca to PVP is going to kill the whole aspect of the forum. It draws a line in the sand where people who don't go to Felucca can't discuss what they think about PVP.

I don't see a Trammel Residents forum anywhere.

JC... you know all too well that for a long time, as far as Atlantic forums go = Stratics = PVM and HOT = PVP. But how often do you see a developer on the HOT forums discussing PVP issues? Do you really think they want to wade through a ton of board-pvp and smacktalk to find issues? This provides a venue for it and is intended to cover all lifestyles that live in the felucca ruleset. Thievery, Merchanting in a fel-ruleset, PVP, Templates, there is more to discuss about fel than "Noob - you **** - stay out of fel!"

Hopefully is will get used and serve a useful purpose. If not, it will die. But we tried so from here on, it's what you (the forum members) make of it (so long as you stay within the ROC and the rules specific to the forum).

Hmm..no there isn't a Trammel Forum.
But there have been special forums for different aspects of the game..ie, Stygian Abyss, and before that Mondain's Legacy, and Thieves has been split to address the differences.

The purpose of the Feluccan forums was to hopefully make a venue for new players to discuss pvp aspects with the vets.
There are few places for them to do that without wading through the Trammel stuffs. The Warrior and Spellcaster forums have some threads related to pvp but they can be hard to find.

This gives those who enjoy the PvP aspect of the game a place to discuss issues. To compare templates, give advice, and in general instruct those who may wish to give this area of the game a try. The art of a Champ Spawns discussed in true detail would be a good place to start.

Perhaps there are guilds who may want to give Fel a try but are really not sure where to start. What is important..how to run a champ..
Unless they happen to run into a knowledgable vet they may give up in frustration.

Like Tazar said, it is what you make of it. Teach them without the smack and perhaps they will come.

There is no point in discussing this further. I've requested repeatedly for many years that there be a dedicated forum for discussing PVP. It is disappointing to see a forum like this created which is not focused solely on PVP. Even World of Warcraft has a PVP forum.

You guys just don't get it. Splitting PVP discussion across 6+ forums means it isn't going to happen. PVP is a subject which touches on a wide variety of systems and classes.

Where am I supposed to start a topic about warriors being underpowered verses mages? If I start it in the warrior forum, mages don't read it. If I start it in the mages forum, I'll get barraged by mages saying warriors are overpowered.

Start it in the new forum. It is for PvP discussion like you're describing. What it's not for is the "You suck so bad and can't win without hacks!" kind of PvP talk.

Then why isn't it called PVP Discussion? There is a topic in there already about non-PVP. It is the second most replied topic.

All this ambiguity means real discussion isn't going to happen and everything is going to continue getting lost in the U Hall.

I don't know what's so hard to understand about it.
Discuss PvP there, talk about it until they shut down the servers, but PvP is not the ONLY thing that forum is made to discuss. It encompasses more than just 1 single theme.

The pvp Forum is a nice addition for the Fel community. Since pvp is also a large community Stratics should also consider another separate pvp smack talk thread for those pvp characters to iron out differences in a civil manner etc along with the TOC of course but a bit more lenient. The shard forums depending on which shards have pvp forum's left some are able to express many things and issues where as other shards cannot. Depending on the shards and mods of those forms and some mods will even fuel a pvp thread with remarks sometimes personal remarks then lock then thread after a reply is made . Players want to read and post. Stratics wants players to read and post there has to be a fair solution for both.

With that said with as many pvp players in the game a seperate moderated smack thread just for smack talke should be allowed readers will not be exposed unless they chose to read the thread.
