A little Q&A with Pink Floyd from SUPR
How long have you been playing UO? Since 1998
What is your favorite template to play at the moment? I will admit it I thoroughly enjoy the pure mage tamer template. 120 mage/med/eval/resist 110 tame 120 lore. It is simple yet extremely versatile.
What attracts you to PvP over PvM? The challenge. If I wanted to take the time to build and suit a crazy sampire character I could solo most any creature. There is also something to be said for putting someone in stat, taking their points, and making them have to wait 20 minutes to return to their regularly scheduled game play.
How did you get the title on Stratics as "Pacific’s Finest"? I used to be the Pacific forums mod, when you quit they give you a title of your choosing and that was all I could come up with.
With all the other MMO's currently out there, what keeps you interested in UO? My MMO gaming started with UO and will end with UO. I hate grinding. Hate, hate, hate it. If I spent hours of my day grinding and leveling to be able to compete, well, I would probably lose my job and have no life. UO lets me log on for 30 minutes a day if I want and in those 30 minutes the options as to what I can do are still endless.
What is one thing you would like to see change in UO? Can I go with two? I would say firstly Order/Chaos brought back and secondly reds allowed in trammel (you can’t flag anyone in tram rule set areas anyway so why not let the reds hang out?)
Any advice you would like to give to new players or old players who are just be starting in PvP? Don’t give up. The learning curve is high these days but if you stick with it you can become great. Anyone can. All it takes is practice.
Who is your biggest rival on Pacific and why?
Probably a combination of Haginor and Sargon simply because they hate me and I can’t help but reciprocate the same feelings back. Other than that I have no hate towards anyone in game, not even Baron.
What is your favorite UO memory to date? When a bunch of us ESF folk split into =I= and we owned FL, ESF, G!B, and the rest of Pacific for a few months. Then I quit UO. Came back 3 years and in much the same fashion split from |M| and started SUPR. It’s been fun.
Worst UO memory to date? When AOS came out. It was all downhill from there but I still have loads of fun anyway.
Is there anything you would like to add?
To all you people who assume Fel players/pvpers are immature, inconsiderate, and just generally “bad people” you should take a step back and realize that a small minority of people may very well be ruining the reputations of 90% the Fel population. Yes there are bad apples but they are everywhere, including tram guilds and they do not represent pvpers as a whole.
