The call had been answered!

The sound of hissing steam and flapping wings only made Dawn's appearance more grand. Cascading across the pure white gaseous background, she stood as the beacon of hope and courage that she had in the times before.

Dawn's addressed the eager masses, but before her rhetoric found it's stride a new figure made it's presence known, a robed figure, draped in a peculiar gray cloak..

However this soon proved to be a facade for a much more powerful form. This, Fayaxion was revealed, or as the populous may more commonly refer to as a Platinum Dragon.

The discussion seemed brief yet informative, it was made clear that he Shadowlords had set their gaze unto the Paladin Stronghold of Luna, and that the attacks that had been occurring were merely forward scouts and raiding parties, the real force had yet to be seen. Dawn raised her glinting sword to the air and proclaimed her intentions above the hiss of steam and the hammer fall of the native Gargish people's toils.

Our intentions for a rez station were good but with the lag..no way was it going to work.

I think I lost a boot somewhere..if anyone finds it???

But we were victorious!

well, i suppose I kinda had fun. I feel that no events should ever take place in Luna again though, having to load up vendors and stuff along with 100s of ppl made this event a lag fest.

I dont even know how it ended, I saw our beloved dragon stop to address us at the end, but with folks asking for free stuff, I could not make heads or tails of any dialog.

So I think for all that took place in the fight, we need someone to explain what went down.

I do thank every one that stood beside me and died for the er..saftey of Luna, even though most of us cant stand the place

Everyone left Luna to go to the EM Councilor's hall where the EM's are giving out the Cloak of Silence (+10 Stealth).

Why couldn't the EM announce the event sooner? Why all the secrecy? Fear of being overwhelmed?

Seems they were overwhelmed, in spite of the secrecy. They ran out.

Dawn (accompanied by a real live GM) announced that they would be making more to hand out later this week.

It really was a fun idea for an event. It's a shame that the lag caused so many issues. I know the EMs were just as frustrated as we were.

I really hope that people will send feedback re: methods for distributing items. The EMs sincerely desire a better way to handle this issue.

I find it slightly fun that I am the only one able to fix many issues that never went away, but if you go back ; I gave my scripts to both Origin and EA... and I doubt they even looked at them. I still consider myself a genius for finding such simple solutions to all game hacks and cracks.

I wonder if they trashed it... I can also eliminate lag alltogether, no matter the number of players on a screen, but I'm so frustrated now that I'd like to do it myself and become famous in UO for it... just because it's kinda ridiculous to be famous in a game, and theres no reason why I couldn't be, since noone ever really was.

Core access against the scripts Mythic, no compromise.

One of the EM's helpers (The all black GM) was getting so desperate she just started walking around tossing the cloaks on the ground. I was able to pick up two.

Also, Stratics reporters are very good at announcing upcoming events. The UOLedger also heralded this event, including a step-by-step walkthrough for finding Dawn prior to her address.

How? I'll send them how it should be done.

Give an announcement that there will be an event going on and distribute it at the same place they were. Only this time, CLOSE the doors after a certain time. That way people cannot get on their alternative characters to get more. This will make the distribution a lot easier. For those of you who say "well what about the ones that couldn't make it there?". Then there should be another event in the near future which will be announced by the EM's on a different time schedule for those who couldn't make it and they will distribute more then.

It's not rocket science. Oh and no more events in Luna. You almost crashed the servers.

I've been checking Stratics and the Atlantic EM sight. I check them religiously! Yet stuff slips through! Now they utilize this dumb lantern messaging method and barely give anyone heads up.
I guess I have to let go of this "I gotta get it" feeling that UO has gotten us into. But really... Mythic needs to come up with better ways to present Live Events and the EMs need a better way to present these things too.
This is making my UO experience very frustrating rather than a pleasure.

Send feedback here: http://www.uoherald.com/feedback/index.php. This feedback trickles down to the devs, who actually have the power to give EMs new methods for distribution.

You can also email our EMs. EM Nestor is a very pleasant person. Nestor was just as upset about last Saturday's lag as we were, and affirmed that the EMs really need better tools for item distribution. I'm sure our EMs are always open to encouragement: [email protected].

Another thing... the EM's need to colaborate with each other better. Seems some shard EM's are VERY organized and can handle it. Atlantic is shot!
The LS EM has a house and then gives one cloak of silence per account and then bans you out of the house. There's a squelch system in there too, so no magic sounds heard. I was impressed on that shard.

Usually I'm against control of the masses, but that is what is primarily needed at these EM events.
