Chesapeake Mage Tournament Ends in Draw!

Last evenings Chesapeake Mage Tournament was quite the event to witness as some of the shards top mage talents came together to vie for the nights championship. The nights activities began with gates being opened from various locations on the Felucca facet leading to the nights arena located just south along the mountains from the Chaos Shrine.

After signing in all competitors and working out the nights first hiccups the events host Jason Bourne of the True Brits greeted guests and competitors alike covering the nights rules and rewards. Competitors awaited thier names to be called to enter the ring as the crowd anticipated the nights action picking favorites with a plethora of trash talk and predictions! Alas the first names were called sometime near midnight as Lord Trueblood and the Dastardly Wasp faced off in the nights first match!

The nights opening battle began as spells began to fly back and forth in titanic porportions. Quick casting spells were the choice as speed was of the utmost importance in the attempt to withstand the constant barrage of poison, fire, and lightening. The two would be champions lit the night sky until alas one was befallen. Wasp stood victorious!

With Wasp taking the nights first matchup convincingly our sights now set on the second match of the night. Essence of Nate faced off against Grimlock in a long battle.

The two battled and even provided the nights first hurdle as spectators were found to be providing heals via magic wand in attempts to thwart the nights honest competion. All spectators were then removed from the arena and fights were resumed as the nights host did a fine job officiating the event.

Once back to action the match resumed with Nate besting Grimlock in another fine matchup.

With action well underway , it was time for the nights first attempt to kill those in attendance! The Followers of Armageddon rushed the top floor in hopes of wiping out the spectors! In a poor attempt the invaders were tossed and the guild warned, any fighter who belonged to the raiding guild would be disqualified! Luckily this worked as things calmed down after the brigand bunch battled outside along the grounds.

The nights third matchup brought Wasp once again to centerstage, up against No One this would prove to be the nights longest battle as the two spellcasters went on like a couple dexxors with a potion iv! The two battled for what seemed like an hour or more perhaps exchanging blows back and forth

With the match ongoing No One seemed to be in the lead working hard to keep Wasp near death and redlined several times. Unable to finish him the match was eventually stopped and the two stripped of thier gear and furnished with reagents. The two naked mages then began again with Wasp easily defeating No One with a barrage of large spells in quick order.

The nights final matchup I was able to witness was that of Rofocale vs Phyber Optik . The two put on quite a show as well when in the end Phyber was victorious!

The night wearing long as matches went well into the early hours of the morning as competitors eventually reached the nights finals. Wasp arriving via the winners bracket and Essence of Nate coming back from the losers bracket. The first matchup boasted Wasps first loss of the night! With victory near the two finalists could neither hold thier heads or spellbooks up any longer as they both agreed the wait for stat loss was too great as the match was declared a draw in a unique turn of events!

All in all the night was a fair success as even matchups and fair play ruled the nights fun. I'd like to thank Jason Bourne for hosting us for this great event and hope it returns soon as the mages of Felucca showcase thier tremendous magery skills. Look for further announcements in the shards forums in the coming weeks!

Not exactly as it happened...one of the same spectators who was using a healing wand on Nate entered the house incognito and withered, attacking and killing several spectators on newbie chars. The FoA who was hit just retaliated. That same person then went outside the house and attacked people trying to get to the tourney but was quickly "removed" by several other spectators.
