[News] Britain's Merchants Turn To Piracy to Overthrow King and Merchant Gideon

Vasco, Merchant Guild Leader of L' Renor Shuk, is seeking to aid the rebellious leaders of the Independent Kingdoms by bringing down Lord Casca and his minion Gideon through piracy and free trade. Defy Lord Casca and bring an end to the high tariffs and taxes imposed by Gideon! Come to the Highwayman Tavern, next to the Shrine of Chaos in Trammel to get in on Vasco’s plans on Thursday, July 9, 2009 at 8 PM PST.

Slipping through the back alleys of Britain, Vasco circulated the following letter to the unemployed traders, captains and pirates suffering from Gideon’s draconian trade policies.

"We are screwed by Gideon’s dealings with Lord Casca! Gideon’s got our tariffs so high we can’t turn a profit, it’s time to take the trade routes back and stir up some business. The King’s armies have suffered a blow from the Dark Tower and Avalon, many of Gideon’s thugs and privateers now work for the rebels instead of the King.

The time’s right to strike at Gideon and for privateers to seize his shipments on the high seas and trade caravans by land. Once we take the goods, we sell to the rebels so they can get the arms and supplies they need to defeat Lord Casca right out of the King’s own pocket and we’ll turn a profit.

Let’s use Gideon’s greed to be his undoing and as we take him out, we’ll make sure Lord Casca won’t raise another in his place, because the King is going down too!

My fleets already got Britan Bay sealed off, now it’s time to put the noose around the King’s neck. If you like what you hear come to the Highwayman Tavern on Thursday, July 9, 2009 at 8 PM PST."

The meeting at the Highway Man Tavern in Scythe village was very productive! Vasco of the L' Renor Shuk, Wildstar and Zacharias of The Kingdom of Dawn, The Dark Tower, Mikie of the Redcaps, Bucko, Lord Xel the Ronin, Hearthfire Village, Dante Lamprouge, Anya the Gypsy, Ceno and Prosperpina of the Keepers of the Tower agreed to band together to stop Lord Casca and Lord Gideon from shipping anymore goods in or out of Britan to further the rebellion against the King.

Vasco will head up the embargo against Lord Gideon and will report to the leader of the rebellion, the Widow. The Widow has claimed to be the true Queen of Britannia and has earned quite a following of supporters.

Other things that were talked about in the meeting included how to deal with hungry civilians in Britain and the most effective method of stopping Lord Casca and his agents including the Town Guards of Britain. It was agreed that the Town Guards will not be directly targeted because they are honorable and serve the people but may come under attack if they interfere with the activities of the rebels.

It was agreed by all that the civilians of Britan will be fed and encouraged to rise up against Lord Casca. The harbors and waterways of Britain will be blockaded by Vasco's fleet. Lord Gideon's caravans and merchants going overland will be dealt with by more secretive and nefarious methods.

Although we were unable to attend the meeting, the Cartel Faction have joined the Rebellion and will protect all Rebellion trade ships.

The same cannot be said for Gideon's fleet and those of Lord Casca's.
