Happy New Year everyone! Please join us for a look back at the first six months of UO in Action as we celebrate a great half-year of EM events. Thank you to the EMs and everyone who have made UO in Action a success and a lot of fun!

Remember, this is just six months of events that we could attend and we hope to be able to video the majority of events in 2011!

Cool video, to help with the review I've attached a video below for each event our EM on siege has thrown in the past 6 months.

I'll add my own review here. These events suck.

At least on the servers I've played, it's nothing but show up, kill monsters, get loot and sell it. There's never any actual player involvement in deciding the story, or any real story for that matter.

Plus, they can't police these at all, which is a joke.

The really funny thing is that on Great Lakes, where there actual player involvement and "real" stories, some people show up and complain that it's not "show up, kill monsters, get loot and sell it."

Fortunately there's more than enough players who appreciate the mix of action and plot to help the EMs make the event work.

*shrugs*

For my part, as long as they keep this program running, the odds are considerably better that I'll keep subscribing and logging in. If you disagree, simply don't go to the events.

I cannot agree more with that.

On Europa almost every event has a storyline, Some involve monsters, Others are just a chat for an hour. Those chats tend to have a few people going 'Come on, lets kill something' but usually the large RP population of Europa happily listens and gets involved with the storylines.

If there were no EM events, I probably too would close a few accounts and not play as much.

I agree as well I love the storylines and I love how the EM's of GL's actually tie theirs to what is going on with the metagame fiction... like the bane and all..... it's awesome.

The EM events on my shard, personally, were boring me. So I just stopped going for the time being.

Though I will agree GL's are good at the very least for using metafiction to create cohesive plots and adhering to a schedule so players are constantly engaged in something if they so wish. I think other shards should have EMs that do that. I find that other shards EMs are not as RP engaged or have set schedules that make it somewhat a gamble on maintaining a firm community presence.

Again, its currently not something I'm into... I find the plots (atm) kinda tiresome. But I will agree that it is another outlet to have paying players something to do. And many games/ most games lack that kind of personal touch.

Well it's interesting to hear that you have at least decent EMs on Europa and Great Lakes.. Perhaps I'll take a look at both of these shards.
