Other stuff useful to know - folks don't hang much at Luna. But there are active vendors at the Yew moongate and Zento, and more scattered hither and yon. Also, if you need something but cannot find it on a vendor, shout out in general chat and someone will likely sell you what you need.
Getting gold can be a bit of a challenge in the beginning, but since there is no insurance here, your gold will pile up after a while. Many Siegers are rolling in the stuff - unless they are using it to buy saltpeter.
And make certain you use your "Siege bless" option for whatever cool item you wish to use it on - you can switch what is blessed at any time. Many bless their weapon unless there is something else you end up with which is 'irreplaceable.'
Otherwise, everything said by others above. Since many folks stealth, there is often many more folks on than you might guess. You'll be in a town and get the 'you move through something invisible' message. Some folks will say 'Hello hidden person.'
Thanks to general chat, you can see who tends to play when you do. Many people will announce when they first come on in general chat - a "Hello Siege" type of greeting. Not something you would do on any other shard, but here, it's fairly common.
Take the shard for the challenge it is and enjoy yourself. Try to give it at least a month before you decide if Siege is "for you" or not. You will find that many people here will help you - even many "reds." If you run into someone Red, don't automatically run from them - especially when you are new. Talk to them. You might be surprised at the help they will give. Of course, if they kill you, then you know to run the next time you see that particular red. But as the saying goes on Siege, "Not all reds are bad. Not all blues are good."
