No, not at all. It has been tested. Dex does not effect stealing at all. Set up your dex to your liking or on the needs of your template. Personally I prefer high intell, over high dex since I do use ninja and magery from time to time without meditation...la

Yeah, I have wrestle too, but prefer more ability to disarm.

Oh by the way, disarm stealing is still alive and well on siege, lol...la

I disarm stole 5 weapon on Prodo last night. People are willing to carry much more powerful weapons on prodo, so a single person missing insurance on one tops most of the crap weapons I ever got on Siege.

That, and people actually play Prodo. ;)

Haven't you heard? You can only steal bandages and pots on prodo.

Hehe, Chad. That is the common misconception, isn't it?

Rico, the only thing hard about Siege is training. Took me a long time to finish my thief, mage, and warrior over there. It's not as bad as most people make it out to be, but be damned if it wasn't a pain in the arse.

Fortunately on Siege you aren't being hit by 5-6 50% ssi 50% DI bows with hit spell and velocity at once. Necro mages there don't pay $100 real cash on their suits. That was one aspect of Siege I always loved. It was so much easier to survive.

And on production shards, thieves too can insure their suits. They can use jewels to help bump their primary skills to the point where if done properly, you can run around with 800+ skill points.

Players packs are filled with blessed and insured items...passive detect (nuff said). Fel is pretty damned empty and on top of it all. The production shards are filled with Trammies.

Have fun. I gave up on them years ago, and doubt anything the devs do, could get me to come back...but if that's what you enjoy...please do...someone does...la

That is true. The door swings both ways. My thief's suit is rather ****ty, low resists and no skill addition, but I do have DCI, which will save my ass against the powerful archers.

Dex used to make a small difference. Hence when you read old guides, in regards to remove trap or stealing, it'll often mention not wearing gloves. Of course, the gloves themselves made no difference, but any piece of armor outside of leather would give you a nasty dex penalty.

Edit: But that all died with Pub 16.

Not sure about the remove trap. wearing leather gloves DEFINITELY makes a difference to me wehn removing faction traps.

I did some testing with it, and it didn't seem to much with my faction trap remover. I'll mess around with it more.
