New to the game and looking for a guild

Hi, was pointed over this way to look for an Alantic guild. Would have used the guild info sticky but it seems outdated.
I just recently got UO, and it was suggested I start on Alantic, so I made a mage that I hope to turn into a tamer eventually.
I'm seeking out a newbie friendly guild, one that hunts together or can just hang out and talk. A group that can help with places to hunt and such, and doesn't mind helping each other out. If such a guild exsists on Alantic please let me know, tired of running around on my own
.

Lots of good guilds here, depending on what playstyle you're looking for. I'm just getting back into the swing of the game myself, but I'm sure someone like Taz might show up to point you in a good direction ...

Greetings Grumbler!

Welcome to UO and Atlantic!

There are many great guilds on Atlantic that can be very helpful! Sadly, Guild pride and rivalries have caused many to go a little to far on our forums... after the last couple of "looking for a guild" posts, many may be reluctant to start the rivalry war again - resulting in few responses to your post.

Please respond with a little more detail on your playstyle and I think that players will be better able to direct you. (Main question is on if you prefer PVP, PVM, or PVEverything!)

If you are very new, I would recommend a PVM guild until you get close to fully developed.

There are good PVM guilds by the hundreds on Atlantic, but the bigger ones have the advantage of more people on-line around the clock so you are able to participate in more things any time you are on.

Larger reputable PVM guilds include (In random order to not show any favoritism) but are certainly not limited to:

RK - Runic Knights
ODE - The Order of Drunken Elders
MSI - Mindless Self Indulgence
*E* - Evermore

With every larger guild, there will be a lot of great people, and some problem players... Take a little time to meet some players from each before you decide. I strongly recommend that you do a few trial hunts with the groups before you join to see if you get along well with them and also if they do things that interest you.

My own guild of ODE tries to be very supportive of newer players, but we also do not want to simply hand you the stuff to put you there now! We believe that if you work for something, you will appreciate it and enjoy it more! We would be more than happy to assist with starter equipment and information on how to gain gold, skills, and all the other items that make up today's UO. Most all of us generally play on a pure mage, or mage-tamer template.

If you would like to try a trial hunt with ODE, send me a PM here and I will be happy to introduce you to the group. We have guildmates and allies on at most any hour, but our main hunts are evenings US eastern time between 7pm and 11pm. We try to do something daily, although sometimes we just end up chatting in guild-speak as we train characters.

Again... Welcome to Atlantic and I look forward to meeting you in game!

Safe Journeys!

Tazar

Tazar hit it perfectly...if you need help with anything there are TONS of people on atlantic that would be willing to help you.

ODE is a very cool guild from my experience and Tazar is a really friendly guy...until you start seeing *hic* running over his character...then run for the hills! (jk)

MSI mostly has pvm characters and have some peerlessaholics....seems like everytime I log on there is an endless amount of peerless going on... Some of us also pvp if thats something that you like to get into.

Either way the best way to get to know peeps is by playing with them and getting to know them...thats what this game is all about is meeting knew friends and having fun!

The Syndicate (LLTS)

A very large guild, the largest in UO, that is very active. We have many players willing and able to help with all aspects of the game.

Pick up a blue book at a moongate near you or just ask a member with the LLTS guild abbreviation on their character.

Thanks for all the helpful suggestions. Met up with Tazar who has helped me get into the swing of things so i'm currently training like crazy. I think meeting the members of different guilds would be benefical, so gonna be trying to go on a few trial hunts once I get my skills above the level of newbie.

Whatever guild ya chose you'll run into us at peerless or stuff, You'll definitely be hooked up. We rarely leave folks behind at peerless just because their not guild. If we do, it's usually because it's not reciprocated.
