New to Shard

Hello everybody,

I am new to this particular shard (and OSI in general). But I have been playing UO for about 6-7 years along with a bunch of my friends.

Now we've been playing other shards and we love the OSI style of gameplay, but we ALL hate insurance and trammies... HELLO SIEGE PERILOUS!!!

I really feel like ive been living under a rock and how did I not find this place? So here I am. But I just had a few questions before taking the plunge.

1. How many people on average are on this shard?
2. I heard you can only have 1 character. Is there a way to have more then one? If so how much more per month is another character?
3. Is Kingdom Reborn on this shard? If so has much changed from the old 2D graphics?
4. Do very many events take place here? PVP tourny's, PVM events ect.
5. You can PVP anywhere? Even in Doom Gauntlet?
6. How is the PVP here. Are there alot of big 20 man ganks? Do alot of PKs go out and kill all the miners?

If you could answer these questions that would be fantastic! And if I did end up joining, I WILL be dragging my friends over as well

-there are 3 main guilds, Tnt/myth, KOC, and JsV alience (to many to list)

2. I heard you can only have 1 character. Is there a way to have more then one? If so how much more per month is another character?
-u only get 1 char. most people have 2+ accounts. no price cut lol

3. Is Kingdom Reborn on this shard? If so has much changed from the old 2D graphics?
-KR is here but u got a choice to use KR or 2D. i beleive most us sill use 2D

4. Do very many events take place here? PVP tourny's, PVM events ect.
-yes. TnT/Myth holds a fight night every other wk with an public vent. No prizes just alot of fun.

5. You can PVP anywhere? Even in Doom Gauntlet?
-yes, only place u cant kill a blue is in a bank (guard zone) or moongates

6. How is the PVP here. Are there alot of big 20 man ganks? Do alot of PKs go out and kill all the miners?
-all the above, most fights are in luna

If you could answer these questions that would be fantastic! And if I did end up joining, I WILL be dragging my friends over as well
-its alot of fun, i'd never move back to a trammie server. To wimpy no risks:/

Yes unfortunately many people don't know about Siege or if they do don't have accurate information.

Not nearly enough.

Yes, but this is a good thing. Many however do get multiple accounts, which is the only way to have an additional character. And we also unfortunately have soulstones and frags.

Not as far as I know. There are sometimes duel nights though.

Most everywhere. And reds can go everywhere. However some areas you can't PvP in, like at peerless bosses. Also, there are still guards around gates and in towns. If you're quick enough you can call guards or if you're near an npc they'll do it for you. But don't think you're safe and go afk just because there are guards.

I can't be exact since I just came back after a break but ganking and zergs have been prevalent on Siege for a long time and have been increasing. Also, there are PKs but with declining population it's both more difficult to find targets and safer for those who still play.

Also, check out the NEW guild. It's for your first month only but it can be of help. Or you can brave it alone, which is fun too. Good luck!

Easy way to figure this out is through a formula
x = amount currently online in JSV alliance.
x+10=Shard population

Yea, this is true, feel free to have multiple accounts 12.95 per account, soulstones help you have multiple templates per character but the average price of a soulstone is well, a good bit for a newby, couple mil.. Best bet if you dont mind is buying one of the current accounts people are selling with multiple soulstones and trained skills

4. Do very many events take place here? PVP tourny's, PVM events ect.

I used to hold a indepth PvP tourny that had a system for reward, I attempted it 2ce and both times it held interest for 4-6 weeks.. The shard population doesn't hold much interest in events longterm, so if you were to hold one dont invest too much in it, if your looking for an event, I probably couldn't be arsed unless I just helped co-host it.

Sure, anywhere, natures fury someones house, and for the "cant kill people in peerlesses" this is true, but have fun and surprise your guildmates by killing em all in Milisande

Tell me, do you like fighting tamers? Cause EA thought we'd all fancy having dragons in game that can occasionally hit for 90 damage or so..

The population is small, but for all the complaining, there are good things about that fact. We pretty much all know each other; like a small town feel - with much the same kind of drama.

Ive spent the last day or so just wandering around (seems like most of the people are on around 17:00 EST).

Seems like a pretty good shard with some decent action going on. So I think I will stay.

I am only having two problems now.

1. Its been a few days and I still havent been signed up to the NEW forums yet (I have to wait for the admin to activate my account).

2. I cannot seem to delete my character that I created. Is there a time period in which you have to wait to delete your character???

Yes, there is a seven day wait before you can delete a character.
