New thief

After 9 years of playing all types of character, I have decided to give a thief a shot. I have a handfull of skills all on soulstones. Started a 15 day trial account to work snooping up (sitting at 95ish now, hopefully GM tonight) and will begin training stealing tomorrow. I have read through the board on various ways to do it and will give them a shot.

I play on Europa. Thanks for the site. I've been there a couple times and was one of the main reasons I decided to make a thief. the stories on there are great.

First of. You dont really need more the 90 Snooping since you can use the Burglas Bandana.

Second. What guild do you play in?

easiest way to work stealing is to steal stacks of empty bottles from a packie. 1 bottle = 1 stone. you want to steal the amount of stones that would equal to 10% of your skill level. 50 skill, steal 5 stones worth of bottles. its not too hard, but just dont get discouraged if you fail a steal, thats half the fun of being a thief. constantly having anxiety over what could happen after the click of one button haha. will you fail? will you succeed? will you succeed and then get run down? will you get away? is it a trap? (that does happen haha) are there 5 stealth archers waiting for you to attempt? ahh, thats the life...

I'm not in a guild yet. I just created one to snoop the alt account... I got it to gm. I forgot about the burglers. Ill adjust that though. thanks for the training tips. I'm currently sitting at about 55 trying to get it up to join thief guild. I can't imagine training it up on a packy without some trial attempts along the way.

Question, i see max weight as 1 stone per 10 skill points, is there a formula giving a percent chance in success... 120 skill = 100% on 1 stone item or such?

I'm not sure on the exact numbers. At 115 stealing, I can hardly remember a time that I failed to steal a 1-9 stone item. For 10 or 11 stoners, I use ferret form.

Ive had 2 Thiefs on europa but one account is closed and the other one lost skills on stones a year ago. Im training one yet again though i just need to find a stealing mark of travesty for him and he should be ready for action.

i think there was a thread about this a month or two ago where we determined that even at 120, this is a very small chance that you may fail on a 1 stone, but it still hasnt happened to me yet.
