The old slasher had some cool-looking special attacks, but he was lackluster in terms of formidableness. A group of 6-10 so-called "trammies" could easily do 3 or 4 slashers in the span of an hour. Que yawn.
However, this last publish introduced some major changes to Slasher. His wildfire-like special (similar to a special used by the crimson dragons) has disappeared, but it has been replaced with some type of meteor storm attack. Now, throughout the encounter, slasher will "howl", freezing everyone, and magic-infused rocks will begin raining down from the sky. Before you become unfrozen, the falling rocks can easily rack up 50-or-so damage against you.
Now, here's the best part. Some of the magically-infused rocks remain on the ground. These rocks (which have an expiration timer) can be picked up and thrown at slasher. When thrown, they appear to hit for between 150 and 250 damage.
The new, improved slasher is awesome! Better targeting, can now "suck" you to himself, and has a new crazy awesome special. He's not as difficult as the Stygian Dragon, but at least he's finally a step above Medusa and Navery.
Nice improvement, devs.
