Really? With all the graphical glitches that UO has and all of the things you could be working on, you spend your time doing new sheep graphics? Are you serious? Is this really the most burning graphical issue for you and time well spent? Sheesh! If I was your boss, you and I would be having a little chat about your ability to prioritise.

I have used a comp from 1995 that will still kick any comercial computers ass! All hail multi million dollar projects that take up an entire building! though weather modeling is all it does i bet it could be setup to run uo.

They are working on graphic fixes... they are stealthing a batch in on this publish/patch. A mistake caused one of the updates to leak, not only into its intended client (EC) but the leak mistake spilled that one graphic into CC.
You think they honestly chose to overhaul sheep art and sheep art alone? Give them time to do a major graphic update so they can get it right.

imo its pixelated. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Some people like pixelated, some dont. Some people love KR art some dont. Baaaa Baaaa.
We be interesting to see when and if there will be significant EC graphic updates, but if its just putting back in KR graphics, its not even going to bring in 100 new subscribers.

I like them in 2d and I'm very hard core 2d. They actually look like sheep to me now and not like tiny white balls of something unidentifiable. That being said, I do think they are a bit big in comparison to some of the other animals. Also sheep aren't really cute, they are basically so ugly they are cute... Lambs are cute and maybe the old style would make good lambs

No, but it was a step in the right direction. People are right in that UO needs a BIG dose of advertisement, but a LOT of advertisement in terms of computer games is visual, and let's be realistic, you really can't advertise 1998 graphics to a 2011 audience in the MMO market.

I'z a BBQ affectionado! When the GF asked me to move to Central NY with her, I told her my only condition was I get to build a smoker so I can teach these folks what Good BBQ is about. Biggest challenge is finding good wood out here.. Maple and Apple Wood is fine if you're making bacon, or smoking a ham, but not BBQ.
Honestly though, I find the best way to learn about people is through their food. When I was lucky enough to deploy on a Med Cruise and stopped in Greece, Italy, France, Turkey, and the UAE etc. other folks would look for fast food joints to get a taste of home. I headed straight to the street food vendors! I've lived all over the US. North, South, East and West and everywhere I've been I've made it a mission and explored "local" foods.
Growing up in the Carolina's BBQ was practically a religion so if I've made sampling it across the US a favorite past time you can't blame me.
I will admit Western KY BBQ varies a bit and some areas do prefer mutton (like Owensboro), but to me it'll always be goat!
Though personally nothing to me beats spending half the night and all day slow cooking an entire hog and having 30 or 40 relatives over to help pull all the meat and then everyone chowing down all evening with good music, good people and a few games of horseshoes.

The past few years, I've been going all across the country as well due to the show circuit in the profession I work, one thing I have made an absolute rule is that "If I can go to X restaurant at home, I'm NOT going to it while on the road (at least when it comes to dinner... breakfast was usually in the hotel, lunch would be "on the floor" which meant something fast, usually sandwiches). It's led to some good discoveries and "regular stops" on return trips...
The Yardhouse in Long Beach, Ciaparelli's in Baltimore, Gyu-Kaku in Manhattan, and so on. Cincy was only a one-shot but I would go back in a HEARTBEAT for the food... and the Hofbrauhaus, Houston has some good stuff too, but the downtown area is a little sparse. Wish I could have gone to the Milwaukee show, but missed that one a couple years back.
It's definitely fun to get a taste of the local flavors. Get away from the national chains and get to the good stuff... and if you can find one of the little grease pits, even better.

Despite being someone who never liked the KR client or its graphics and I still hate the EC. I agree with everything you've said from the advertising point of view to get new people into UO and hopefully staying. In 2011 the 2d client wont appeal to the pixel nerds that come from the graphic heavy worlds of WoW etc.
Something changed and people don't like it = predictable? lol
Let's throw some more 2D art into SA, I guess, and see how you guys like it ;P...oh wait...we've been doing that for awhile now, haven't we...and people still aren't flocking to SA...
Seriously, when they changed the 2D CC Daemon graphic, and when they changed Lich sounds, that upset me. This Sheep change isn't as upsetting because I never really thought much of sheep. But I'm going to miss how they used to look, because the new look doesn't fit in with the old 2D art. Now instead of ignoring sheep in 2D I'll stop and be like, damn, those things are ugly now.
