New people, what could we have done to make your time more enjoyable?

This is a continuation of a discussion on the thread Kat made in a way.

For any person new to Siege who has started within say the last 6 months, regardless if you are still playing, my questions to you are:

1. What things could we as a community have done to make your time here on Siege more enjoyable?

2. If you ultimately left Siege, why?

3. If you stayed, why?

Even though I have been on siege longer than six months it was kind of a drag being a thief in NEW and only being able to use my skills on packies (i'm not saying I disagree with this rule, I understand why it is in place.) At that time I played a combo of siege/prodo but once I left NEW I haven't logged into a prodo shard since. Maybe I would have had more fun if a decent thief took me under their wing from the start.

That being said I still owe a lot to NEW for all their information and gear they supplied me with.

I know when I started as a thief in NEW long ago I collected cotton and wool in between RoT gains. Made a couple million gold off it. I think I ran the Solen quests a bunch too.

I met some nice people in NEW. I guess that is why Shalimar loves me so much. I stole a little piece of her heart perhaps? :-D

I made it clear long ago I am very happy to be snooped and stolen from, in fact I try to keep items in my pack just for the noob thief.
Perhaps more people need to declare themselves fair game for the noob thief?
Or all steals during your NEW time must be returned?
Let's not make more work for shally but just make it more fun for thieves.

A. Hhmmmm this is a hard one. I came to Seage because.
My friend told me you needed vendors over here. I was just bank sitting on
LS and was getting board with the game. Because I had everything I
needed or wanted on LS. I didn’t want to use the Guild (NEW) because I
needed something harder to do. Not saying I did not take some handouts.
I got a fire beetle from someone and a player from Guild (NEW) did give
me a power scroll for blacksmithing and I would thank then here if I could remember there names


Q. If you ultimately left Siege, why?
A. N/A


Q. If you stayed, why?
A. like I said you needed vendors here and I am going to
try to be the best vendor on this shard as soon as my skills get up there.

Silence toward other players is more than just being silent. For a year,
most people just ignore me, and I did the same.
2. I left Siege Perilous some six years ago...I deleted my character...
Why? People went out of the way to prevent me from functioning on the shard.
Later, I came back because I did not care what happened to me, I played the
game alone. I mostly still do, even though I joined a guild... habits take time
to change. Also, the trust game is dead on Siege Perilous, I expected guilds
to fall apart and many guilds would quit. The guilds that troubled me slowly
went away. The surviving guilds now should earn its membership trust, or
just fail.
3. I play my own game... I mostly enjoy that. I am a survivorist. If I can not
do it alone, I then wait to do it with my guild, if not that... well I do
something else.
The few intrusions on my game are endured better now.

1) I dont think there is much, i mean i hardly ever see anyone online so there isnt really much the community can do for me...except maybe log on.

2) I haven't left yet, im still logging on to get my ROT gains...then im back to prodo.

3) I like to try and give things a fair try, just because im increadibly frustrated with ROT and the inability to go anywhere or pretty much do anything, i will stay until the char is done...then i just have to work on getting gold to build a suit.

been here for a little bit, figured I'd make an account instead of trolling about

anyways, yeah the low population can be a downer, especially without a PvM character, but I would personally like to see more player run events.

I was really enjoying the Brit GY GM armor pvp extravaganzas, haven't seen those going on too much, anything we can do as a player base to come together, even if coming together means talking **** and res-killing... It's nice to play with other people instead of feeling like I'm playing something besides a MMO.

Dungeon crawls, non-faction item PVP tournaments, chess tournaments!

Speaking of chess tournaments, I am currently setting my house up as a chess-hall and will try hosting weekly tournaments soon, prizes etc!

If anyone wants to play me chess in-game I'm always down, betting is of course always welcome

I'll make a post in the next few days about chess tournaments if anyone is interested
