are these better then the ornay of mag, and crystal ring combo?

That is all going to depend on what you need or the type of suit you are building..

If need LRC, LMC or Energy resist then Orny and a ring is the way to go..

If building a luck suit, the jewelry set is nice, again if don't need LRC from your jewelry (which for the most part I do, but do have a luck suit that is just crappy armor with 1200 luck my tamer wears, so he may end up with the new set) but for the most part my mage chars have combination of FC/FCR with LRC and resist on their jewelry and that is what they need for their suit.

The new set is complete JUNK until they overhaul this wanabe loot system they have inplace. IE: Paragon Cu' Sidhes (Coochies) dropping 1% SDI bracelets (PLAIN) along with other stuff regularly. Know what else drops that? Mongbats!

Luck is a waste of time currently compared to better properties that are available (Unless your on some tamer who needs not to cast spells etc., may as well stack luck and hope for the best... lol...)

The UO.com has a misprint, the total bonus from wearing them both is 400 luck. There is a 100 luck bonus for the set.

The 1st set is nice for a casual player probably tamer who have pet tankers.
They can fill up the 100 LRC with the other armor pieces (can afford having average resists)
But can't say that i find any difference in adding more luck pieces.
(Only RL Luck Counts!)

The 2nd set is definitely what most would go for especially the mages but only affordable for the hard-core players or rich merchants.

I sure there are other better ring/braclets combination than these 2 sets!

300,000 clean up points are needed to obtain this setup and untill the cost of tickets goes down its about the same cost for either setup depending on what shard your on. LS for example, crystaline ring is 20 mil average, orny sells for 10 to 12. Last time I saw cleaning tickets the average was 100 gold pieces per point, although Im sure with the additonal turn ins that price will drop rapidly.

Personally I like the setup and the 400 luck it adds to a pure luck suit as opposed to the 200 luck you would obtain otherwise.

I dont think it is fair to compare the two different combinations. Albiet the price is comparable, the nature of the beast is completely different.

For the price the combination is great for a luck suit, and it works well for both dexers and mages. (both mages and dexers can take advantage of theluck shield with this set too.)

Devs, so far this is my favy on your list. Good job on the balance achieved with this item powerful yet usable. (I hope the mage and dexer suits are as well balanced as this. Oh the boots were not too shabby too, but the earrings really deserved a blessed tag.)

A bit hard to tell atm how suits will end up. I personally considered my luck suit a kamikaze special, so you can imagine resist had little to do with the suit *grins*.

Chucklin Cheesy Hat...150 luck.
Wep SC No - ....140 luck.
Sheild....80 luck.
Robe...95 luck.

Thats 1265 luck without gloves, legs, or arms. leaves room for some resist...(LRC if you need it) and LMC. *starts rummaging for armorz*.

EDITiZ POST: With 200 extra luck you can give the luck neclace a good kick if you like for the 30 lrc from pendant. YAY! STILL HAVE HIGH LUCK!!!

As to them being more useful than an Orni or a Crystalline Ring?

No.

This set will become the gold standard for tamers, and for some mages who can't afford an Orni. The occasional luck-wearing Paladin will also benefit hugely. I don't think you'll see these items used by top-tier or near-top-tier PvPers.

Nor by me for that matter; Galen needs the HCI too much.

I for one will definitely be attempting to get my hands on this combo! My tamer has a total of 14% LRC on her jewelry which I can (relatively) easily work out into the rest of my suit.

In fact I could probably get that done by the time I've earned the points hehe!

Sell in a few months? from my experiance with all the new items that come around sell for a much greater price at first then steadily drop in value as more folks obtain them and they become less desirable, just curious sorry.
