New Drops - Which monster drops which items?

I went through all of the posts I could find relating to the new drops on the SA bosses (Navrey Night Eyes, Medusa, Stygian Dragon, and Slasher of Veils). From what I can tell, it appears only certain items come from certain monsters. We are still missing any info on Mangler (broadswords) and Venom (bracelet). This leads me to think they must drop off the Stygian Dragon since he is the least challenged foe of the four. Here are the confirmed drops from folks on Stratics by monster:

Navrey Night Eyes
- Tangle
- Night Eyes
- Venom

Slasher of Veils
- Lavaliere
- Mangler

Medusa
- Slither
- Medusa Floor Carving
- Tangle

Stygian Dragon
- Draconi's Wrath
- Burning Amber

There was one report of receiving the talisman Slither, but it did not indicate the monster that dropped it. These were the sources I used:

Great info -- please keep it coming. Finally, we have confirmation that all of the items have been found. We just need stats on Venom.

-DI could be dropped
-Only 30HLD
-No mods over what can already be crafted

A better weap could be made with a val hammer...They should have taken off UBWS, added HLA or something, and given it 40 SSI. Broadie's are slow.

If (big if) you're wearing an Assassin Armor set, it wouldn't be half bad against Fleshrenderers in Doom. You'd have to keep Cons Wep up, but with the high mana leech and HLD (coupled with M&S) that wouldn't be hard. That's about the only thing I can think of that it would work halfway decent against, and that's taking the Hit Harm into consideration.

Yeah but I could make a weapon that would out preform it easily. Also you don't need assassin armor could just use high stam increase armor. But either way its a waste much like many of the other special weapons they have put in game.

That would be a crappy bracelet considering they already have one that is 1/2 with like 10 dci 10 hci and some other stuff. In total it has like 8 mods.

UPDATE: Stats corrected - it is FC 2/FCR 1 which makes it a little more desirable.

We need more data on who dropped what item. So far my hypothesis is not broken that only certain monsters drop certain items. The names also fit the theme of the monster. It is logical that Navrey drops "Tangle" and that Medusa drops "Slither" as examples. If you got a drop, please hit rely. We just need the item you earned and the mob that dropped it. Thanks!

Good catch on my stats on Venom. I typed it wrong, but I had the imbuing intensities correct. It is a FC 1 / FCR 2 item.

Can you a post a link to where she said that? I scoured these boards and cannot find the reference. If that is the case, however, it further confirms the notion that there are "unique" and "shared" drops like the champ spawn replicas. The question is which are unique and which are shared.

It begs the question why Navrey seems to have the best drops? Good for us, but I don't quite get it when an encounter with Slasher, for instance, takes so much longer and is a required team effort. I did two Slashers with friends on Tuesday. It took the better part of an hour and a half. We walked away with 5 gargoyle artifact items, but no one got one of the new rewards.

Well, I got that reference straight from Mesanna in game. Mesanna joined us the other night at the EM hall on Pac. They were introducing the new EM Tazzy. She was wearing slither and it was brought up. I can't say it is 100% that medusa only drops it, but with a name like slither, the snake reference is all we can go off of unless we find out otherwise. Mesanna said it's from Medusa. She didn't say it was from any others, Nor did she say others couldn't drop it. So one could assume that Medusa drops it, and others might? Time will tell.

She also was trying to get info from us on drop rates of the new items. Which leads me to believe devs may be checking into the drop rate.

My wife and I spent over 8 hours killing Night Eyes yesterday. Neither of us got a single artifact or SoT that entire time. I was using my sampire with luck of over 2000 after Honor, and my wife was using her tamer with luck suit.

They should make the drop system work like it does in Doom so that you can eventually get what you are hunting for. As it is now you can kill 100's of them and see the drop go to someone who has only killed 1. It defeats the sense of purpose.

Perfection luck doesnt stack. Just sets the minimum at 1000. Like JoaT is for skill.

Do these new artifacts drop in your pack along with the message "For your valor...etc" like the other artis or are they looted from the corpse?

They fall right in your pack. I don't think they give the "for your valor message". When we killed slasher, we also found a level 12 Beserker's Scythe on the corpse. The garg arties released since SA opened last Sept fl right in your pack.

Anyone have more data on getting drops? Seems like the drop rate is really slow. I was at Navery last night again with no success. I would also like to see the Doom style drop system implemented. They also need to add Niporalem as boss encounter that gets a chance at drops.

The message I got was.. "A special gift has been placed in your backpack"
I got that message when the two sot's appeared in my pack also.
To date I have got 4 of the new arties, 3 tangle's and a pair of glasses along with two 3.0 sot's. Out of the 6 items all 4 appeared in my pack along with the above message and the glasses were on Navrey's corpse.

PS. 2 tangle's and 2 sot's were obtained wearing 0 luck on my archer. Another tangle and glasses I got on my tamer wearing 1200+ luck.

On one of the UO search engines, Venom's stats are:

FC 2
FCR 1
SDI 10
Poison Resist 20


On a side note, some friends said they got an artifact katana named Draconi's Wrath? off the Stygian Dragon, Europa gold colored...can anyone confirm this?

Awesome! Great info on the Stygian Dragon and Medusa drops. I updated the first post. Also, I was wrong on Venom. It is a FC 2/FCR 1 bracelet. I corrected my post mid-thread.

I don't know about Niporalem. I had good success killing him pre-patch using my sampire and an undead weapon. The only pain was he dismounts you. Other than that, he wasn't too bad. I have not tried him since pub 64. I've only been doing Navrey and Slasher thus far.

Oh that is good news. So maybe there is a shared and unique system. I was fighting Slasher last night and someone there got a Lavaliere. I keep getting darned gargoyle artifacts and another Beserker's Scythe. I'm hoping for something else.

The fact that Navrey has the best arties (IMO) is driving me back to her. Unfortunately, she is camped like no tomorrow. Probably because everyone else realizes what she drops and she is also the easiest to kill. I would like them to spread out the drops so all of the bosses can drop every artifact. I do think Slasher has the right drop rate. People seem to be getting stuff and I'm happier with the loot after the 30-40 min group fight. I netted about 20K after I got my instanced corpse, picked up the gold when it went available to all, and then turned in my untranslated tome. Navrey is like playing the lottery right now. Very little gain except for the one in a million chance you get a new item drop.
