New areas in Despise and other dungeons

Well, they aren't really new. They've been around for awhile, but inaccessible areas were created in dungeons like Despise and at the time we thought they might be entrances into SA. The areas I refer to can be found on the bottom level of Despise, the very southern side of the dungeon. Down by the Cyclopses and Titans, there's an inaccessible raised area and down by the acid elemental, there's an inaccessible area with huts. It seems nothing has been done with them, but what was the intention? Will something be done with them?

There are even a few more unused areas. However, they are not at all new, they've been here since the beginning. These areas have been or probably will be used for certain events.

The huts by the acid elementals and the high elevation area near the Cyclopses is relatively new, this much I know. It wasn't there when I was doing the Candle of Love quest and hunting for that abused Ogre Lord. This is why I mention this specific instance.

I noticed a guy near the Eastern tip of Despise level 4 named Jacob. He's like "floating" on the upper shelf where Ogre Lords and regular Ogres are. Whats the deal?

I've wondered on this mystery since the candle of love... I know they were there then because I was trying to spawn the Ogre killing the titans... and would frequently get irritated because after awhile all of the cyclopes and titans would spawn up there out of reach.... and well you all know how long it takes to page a GM to move them down where you can kill them..... so eventually most of them would spawn there and I'd leave.

So I know they have been there... just don't know how to get there. Perhaps this is an "easter egg" or..... it may be just something never finished like 100's of other things in UO.

My mind always speculated that there would eventually be some vast dungeon that would connect all the dungeons through such places. But that is just a speculation.

Ahh, the mysteries of UO. Now that's my play style.

I've never dug into this one beyond searching the immediate area for clues. I found one strange thing, but at the moment don't recall what exactly it was. But it wasn't something that seemed connected other than just being a bit strange, as I recall.

There are other mysteries in UO, many of which date back to the beginning. All have been delved into by the early players, and the universal opinion has been that it's all broken. Some obviously so. Nothing to them. I still always wondered though. Could there be deep secrets still hidden within this game? If this stuff is broken, it's been an on-running wish of mine that they fix it, and do it right so that we players would never know if they were indeed broke or if they had always been there.

I also wonder if there's any new mysteries with the release of the underworld. It'd be very cool if there were hidden and secret rooms and passages waiting for us to find.

These mysteries, many of which most of you don't know about (because you have to look, and I also have the benefit of knowing all the things other early players had found) are something I've wanted to document for a long time. Just never got around to it.

One classic example is the notes found in Covetous. 3-4-1-5. What does it mean? No one has ever known. There was a special event that had a Black Liche spawn in there. Some say that these numbers were the clue to make it happen. If so, it was added in almost as an afterthought, since this was at least 2 years after UO was released. Maybe that was the intent in the beginning. There's more to this that I'll reveal, but what I've found leads me to think that maybe it was all connected to the Liche Twins, an early UO event. I just don't know for sure. But what I've found is definitly cool, as far as secrets go. Just nothing more than that, unfortunately.

These seemingly unused areas, such as the Grecian column structures near the cyclops and titans in Despise, are purely there for decoration. They decorated these areas the same time they decorated Serpent's Hold.

So, those extra rooms that no one has found a way into, they are there just for decoration?

Seems like I need to explore the world.
As you do, click on things and double click on things. Look for strangeness.
To start, go to Deceit and right inside the entrance. Go to the first room on your right as you go in. Look for a couple of crystal balls on a table, they're on the north side of the room. Double click (use) each one, and see what happens. One has a set of proverbs related to UO lore and Deceit. The other repeats whatever has been said near it. Say something and "use" it again, and hear your words recorded in it.

Edit to add: I should say that the proverbs speak of a mystery hidden deep in the dungeon. No one has ever found anything, however, there are some unusual things. One is a pegasus statue that used to move up and down as you double clicked it. At times it's been broken and falls to the floor, don't know the current status. And nearby in a room there is a set of floor pulls/levers on a dais. Again, nothing ever found, and assumed simply broken and unfinished. Just some strange stuff that leaves you wondering...you know...what if?
