The gold bricks that drop occasionally from killing paragons in Ilshenar can be dyed. Are you sure it isn't that? if so, it doesn't really have any value:

Don't think it is a bug, these have been dyeable with tokuno dyes for years. And even the slime dye event allowed you to dye these.
