Negative Physical Resist?

Hello Tina, Cousin Dar (TOT) wearing Legendary crafter player made all 70's barbed leather suit, stipped naked (with no buffs on) is -15 resist and 0 in every other resist.

I'm really puzzled, Elladan. I've been going through a bunch of my characters and so far the only one that has had anything weird with physical resist is one that was wearing a Sorcerer's Suit.

Have you tested this apon death? Seems to happen more when your char dies.

I have found 1 char affected on my accounts up until now, and this one didn't die in the last 5 weeks or so. Whereas my strobolight char is perfectly fine.

I logged in this morning with the same problem. My physical resist is -24. I use the Sorcerer's Suit as well.

They are really screwing things up lately, aren't they?

I would be A little more understanding if a dev came on here and said we know of this problem and we are trying to figure out how to fix it and then keep us posted every 3 or 4 days but to ignore it and us and not say anything is rude and unprofesional !

My suit uses protection and reactive armor. AFTER DEATH, I am now -16 in physical resist. It is NOT a socerers suit. This affects suits that use buffs period.

Edited: the -16 is when I am naked, after death.

yes this is the issue we all are having it has nothing to do with having a sorcerers suit only! it I belive is caused by buffs alone either way is broken and needs fixed!

Here's what seems to be wrong:

The sorcerer's suit has six pieces to it. Each piece has +7 in each resist, which would normally give only +42 in each resist. The difference between 70 and 42 is 28, i.e., you get a 28 point bonus to each resist when you wear all parts of the suit.

What seems to have happened is that the "sign" on the the 28 point bonus that should go to the physical resist when the entire suit is present has been changed from a positive to a negative. It looks like the 28 point bonus in the physical resist is added in when you have the whole suit on, but then it is taken away. Unfortunately, the taking away of the 28 points in physical resist seems to "stick" to your character, even if you completely remove the suit, log out, and close the client. I imagine something similar might be happening with other suits that provide a bonus to resists when you wear a suit that gives the message, "The magic of your armor combines to assist you!" when all parts of the suit are worn at once.

I dont think its based on the 70-42. I run protect only on my tamer, while on my other girly she runs protect and magic reflect and reactive. She's got -44% physical resist. And my tamer who only runs protect is -28%.

Quick question...does the char that is having this problem have magic resistance and if so then how high? I'm wondering if the natural resists you get from having magic resistance is messing up the calculations. I'm pretty sure that my char with 120 resist when buck naked has either all 40's or 42's in resists (70-42=28).

I dont have any resist anymore, stoned it off months ago. I think this is related to the sets because the boost is exactly equal to 28. I know someone else that has a Sorcerer Suit...same exact problem.

Paged a GM just now...GM Akemai asked me to get naked...then fixed me!!!

However, its not only related to sets. I do not wear set armor, I wear regular armor and I am at -16 physical resist.

So is that the answer? Are we supposed to page? Because I have a few characters that are messed up now (and none of them wear set armor)...GMs are going to love me I guess!

If the GMs don't have the inclination to fix each of our impaired characters, then yes we deserve a rapid hot fix, or there's going to be a lot of undeserved death robes this weekend.

Just add myself to the list of victims - One of my chars wears sorcerer's suit and often casts protection and like the fellow players above, he has -28 physical resist with nothing on. The reply message for my first GM page last night led me to knowledge base that talked about the spells that can affect the resists. It also mentioned using talisman of ward removal. I tried everything without success. My 2nd page got me a message telling me they are investigating the issue.

It has been almost 24 hours since my char is handicapped!

Is it too much to ask for a reward (e.g vine cord sandles) for our patience?

this has nothing to do with sets !!!!!! and the only way I know of to fix this is to put on the virtue set it will take you to max resist untill you take it off !! then you are screwed again!

How do i let you know, my characters are still in the negatives even after the maintenance. Do i page or? i'm a little put off on paging gms after last night...I dont want to get blown off by the time i hit 7th in the que.

Waited in for 4 hours and I did explain the problem exactly and when it got to me the message said basicaly we need further investigation and we dont replace lost items wtf? lol I am not speaking aramaiac or anything what language are they speaking? I think "your shards" means "shards in US and Europe". When will other shards be addressed? Will the shards in Japan be addressed at their next maintenance time, too?

What I should point out is that this bug happened on the fly...it didn't just afflict everyone.

Logging in today looked promising showing all 70's wearing her normal gear and sorcerer's suit. However, naked char (after recasting to unbuffed state and using ward talisman) is still kaput with resists of -16/0/0/0/0. Tried closing out of client and relogging, and still broken. Going to try the GM route again.

I was also not fixed as of server up today. Once again, I do not wear a socerers suit. I was still at -16 physical resist when naked and no buffs on. *sigh*

I did finally page a GM and they came and helped me and quite quickly I might add. Thank you GM Drasaw!

Ok, now to check all my other chars...


Edit: After reviewing my other chars, I now find that ALL of them are messed up. Who are we supposed to contact about this? Are we supposed to page? My entire weekend will be made up of paging GMs and waiting.

No its not fixed I had to have a GM fix my character recently, you need to page a GM explaining you are naked, have no spell buffs on at all and have a negative phy resist. Keep paging until a GM shows up to fix it.

I think its a conspiracy by Sakkarah to see how many people she can get to take there clothes off in one day! Check your house for peep cams people!

And for the record this has been going on for month. I had this happen before and needed to page a GM to fix it
