Need some assistance with Medevil type deco/plates etc...

Hello folks

I have not been around a lot lately but was wondering if some of you could possibly help me out here.

I am getting married and while I could not talk my future wife into a UO Themed Wedding across the board ... believe me I tried hahaha. I was able to talk her into doing a traditional wedding and then having a Game of Thrones type reception, she loves the books and the show, and I can always tell myself it is UO theme so it's the best of both world to me lol. The problem I am running into is actually finding half way decent deco/place settings etc for the reception. I figured maybe some of you have possibly done this type of thing in the past and was wondering if you could point me in the right direction.

I have tried using Google and the stuff I am finding there is kid type deco stuff OR the real dang expensive stuff. My budget for it just ain't gonna handle nowhere near $200 per piece of drinkware.

Try finding people who frequent Ren-fairs and do medieval themed stuff like knight fights etc?
They may have stuff or know where/how to get it.

In Dallas, there is a dinner/theater type place called "Medieval Times" that has a medieval theme and a jousting arena for the dinner show. There are also ones in Chicago and a few other areas. Perhaps someone there might be able to give you some information if you call.

I'd recommend checking out Medieval Collectibles!
It's a great company that I became acquainted with when a friend of mine's band decided to take on a medieval theme and wear plate and chain armor to their shows.

The lion is the sigil of house Lannister, and readily identifiable with other MMO fantasy universes as well.

A "dove" is still something used in certain societies today, and is essentially a two-headed glass that the couple both drinks from to symbolize their unity. Its a great piece not only historically, but fits in great with fantasy worlds. I first learned of it when described in a flashback to Eddard and Catelyn's Wedding.

In terms of plates and utensils, you may find yourself in a bind, as its uncommon for flat dishes as we used today to be found in medieval times.

The link above has good wooden or stainless steel equivalents but doesn't have any real plates or dishware.
I would recommend a good knife set and anything else you see that catches your eye to really set the mood. Nothing cooler than cutting into a steak with a bad-ass knife like that!

Not sure what you plan on in terms of venues, but I would also recommend getting a good regal set of tablecloths. Could make the difference, and can likely be found cheap as they are still used widely today!

Medieval Collectables falls into the "nice but expensive" category. I used to be an enactor at the original Renaissance Faire in Augora, CA...and we usually made all of our own "stuff" on the cheap by re-purposing items. To try the same thing these days will cost $$$$ due to the popularity of the Ren. Faire motif. I was trying to point Kylie towards resources which were affordable for the average person needing to create a special event without draining their bank account.

The wooden bowls, spoons, and some of the cutlery looks pretty affordable...if you're only buying 1 or 2 sets. But I imagine that Kylie will be buying 6-10 sets including goblets for a table setting.

All of my links were around 15-50 dollars.
OP said he can't afford 200 dollars per piece, but maybe he meant 20? Not sure.
Either way, can't imagine where you could find things cheaper than 20 dollars a cup!
Doubt you could even buy non-stylized glassware for that cheap at walmart!

If you want the theme to be memorable, you can find some great pieces there for cheap. There are a lot of really expensive ones as well, but no reason to overspend.
