So far I have died 9/10 times I have fought Irk. I really just don't see how you guys are able to kill him. I got lucky the one time and hit 5 critical hits in a row the one time I won. I know I am not 100% template yet (only 110 bushido, can't find a scroll), but this is ridiculous. I have tried Ornate Axes, Rune Blades, Radiant Scimitars, Katanas (got bored) and all that good stuff.

I go into the fight with EoO, Honor, Consecrate Weapon, and Lightening Strike. I heal alot with Confidence as I have no healing on the template. My armor is as follows:

all 70's in Vamp form

90 to 98% DI (depending on weapon)
DCI 45%
Stam 162
Str 110
HLA 38% (still need my Mace glasses)
SSI 30%
and each weapon has 40% plus Stam and Mana leech.

I am basic templete

110 bushido (120 one day)
120 swords
100 tacts
100 necro
60 Chiv
100 anat (swappable with resist and tried both)
120 Parry

I am at my wits end. My tamer has a much easier time getting the Irk key by sending a dragon after it and invising, but that feels like a cheat to me since I want to do the entire thing on my sampire.

Any advice guys? Do any of you have special tactics or weapons you use for Irk?

The first thing to remember is to go in with any weapon that isn't physical resist.

The second thing to remember is that you need a way to survive the initial mana dump from Irk. Once you get past that, it's no trouble. Evasion helps, as does potions.

The third thing to remember is that HLD helps a lot. I don't like going into the battle without it (I do, but that's because the character I use won't use the glasses for roleplay reasons. But you really need the glasses in general).

The Ornate Axe I used was made with Valorite, so you guys know the spread on it. The Radiant was a Soul Seeker and thus 100% cold, and the Rune blade was indeed 100% physical.

The one time I killed Irk was using the Soul Seeker. The Ornate Axe does work great compared to the other two as I was able to at least get him to half life.

I will see what I can do with surviving the mana dump. I'll give it a go after I finish all my business today.

There are times when you have to run and heal up. Also, the slower the weapon means it is critical that you do not miss. With a faster weapon, you can miss a few more times. Bring refresh pots, and do not use divine fury unless your dci is overcapped for it.

I struggled with this til today. Make sure your weapon is anything but phys, one handed max mana and stam leech, make sure you get irk honored, it makes a world of difference. As soon as fight starts hit comfidence then evade drink a pot when you get about half lifed and then its a breeze after that, hes weak as water after the dump.

I use a Ornate axe

44 LL
46 SL
52 ML
30 SSi
50 DI

30 Fire
40 Cold
30 Energy

I manage maybe 8/10 Irks, pots confidence, evade, healing are all very important.

My main trick is to hit a STR pot, then hit a bandy attack the irk, evade, confidence, pot, confidence, bandy kicks in, evade, LSLSLSLSLSLSLSLSLS woohoo!

He never even gets me half lifed after a mana vamp.. maybe the healing keeps me alive? I don't know but I just don't see where people struggle.

My main struggle is that he is rarely alone. I try not to step into the spider pits, but there always seems to be something else attacking. And when it's one or more other changelings - ugh.

If you use a radiant that isnt physical you should find it "easier" with more spawn on you [wirlwind] as your hitting each one for 50-70 and getting 70% of each one of those back in health every 1.25 seconds.

2 spiders + Irk + a quagmires and 3 swamp spawn [with irk honoured, EoO'd] thats 196 - 275 health back EVERY second. How is that hard? Thats nearly double what you probably have!!

Thats being generous aswell as its using Vamp plus CW [ i run without CW]
AND thats not taking into account crits from honour doubling those numbers 50% of the time!!

P.S Irk has about 1000HP so it should be dead in 15 hits or 7 crits ;)
