Heya folks,

Been toyin with my warrior a bit & have a great idea, just tryin to figure out how to cram it all into 720 skill points. :)

Here is my char atm, real skill (skill cap)

Fence - 96.3 (120)
tact - 108.7 (115)
anat- 110 (110)
heal - 93.3 (110) have a 120, not sure if i will use or not
bush- 76.4 (110)
parry - 110 (110)

That makes 675 if i cap them all. I was going to do that & put the remaining 45 in chiv, but then i thought abount ninjitsu. I have a fork with 50% lightning & 26% mana leech. With the focus attack ninja spell, i hit lightning almost 100% of the time and mana leech somewhere around 50%. Only problem is I need more ninjitsu skill than i can really afford as focus requires 30 min skill to cast.

My questions are should i drop a skill or two a bit to make room for the required ninjitsu? or will it be too cramped & ineffective, in which case i'd just put the skill into chiv as i originally planned. I could probably drop heal to 80-90, maybe drop some tact, & possibly bushido (im confused on bush tho because ive been strongly advised both ways by different people). Would it be better to drop parry instead of bush? Stupid to drop either? I really hate the idea of dropping tactics, I'll have to check the calc to see how much dmg I'll be sacrificing.

Anyway, sorry for the barrage of questions, but any thoughts or tips you might have would be greatly appreciated. :) I really think if i can fit the ninjitsu on the temp this char will be a monster. Please let me know if i'm grossly mistaken. :)

Okay so working backwards on your questions:
1. You can't drop tactics if you want to use specials. Need 70 for primary, 90 for secondary.

2. Tactics drop to 100 because you are using bushido with parry and get a bonus having 100 anatomy + 100 tactics.

3. Drop healing to 90. Really no need for more in my opinion, unless you want to heal slightly more damage. The difference is really quite small for 30 points which is a lot.

4. Ninjitsu I advise getting as high as you can. Why just focus attack? Might as well get to 115 or so and use death strikes as well to complement and round out your template. Having as many ways to attack as possible is GOOD.

My suggestion would be something like this:

120 Fencing (higher = better = more accuracy = competing).
100 Tactics (basically so you can get the 10% bonus on evasion).
100 Anatomy
90 Healing
120 Bushido
120 Parry (again...higher the better. = competing better and the difference is significant.)
70 Chivalry

This would be my basic idea. You will have to do without something if you want to have ninjitsu. The above is a balanced type template. With ninjitsu you would have more holes in your arsenal, unless you ride a lesser hiryu...since you don't have hiding/stealth.

Ninjitsu honestly is a better mage type template or stealther template. With them implementing the tactics change last year, it scrapped a few of those types of templates. Just my 2 cents...it's a more hybrid type of template as well.

5. If anything drop the parry like you asked. Can use animal form and shadows to help your defense. Mirror image won't stop spells however.

6. It would be cramped like you thought, in which case you could add the 45 to chivalry and add a bit more or drop something less needed.

Hope all that helps. Not sure I made sense. I usually don't :p

This is an oldie but goodie if you want a player eliminator.

Fencing 120
Tactics 120
Anatomy 120
Poisoning 100
Healing 100
Resist 120
Focus 40

Has few buffs but this is built to kill other players in pvp. Can be VERY good if you can play with a partner with about the same skills. 2 players cross healing can be almost impossible to kill. 2 second heals rock!

Deathstrikes without hiding/stealth is a pointless waste of mana as they do ~10 damage each. Ninjitsu is helpful for having focus attack, fukiya darts and shurikens, and forms for evading dismount ganks though.

Ah yeah, another change they had made. Well like I said you are basically better without using ninjitsu. Without hiding and stealth not much point. Irregardless, I would not rely on one attack like focus attack.

I advice much the same as what GFY said.

My last template is a good & easy pvp template to use and it has the ability to kill opponents.

If you really want Ninjutsu find a weapon with shadow strike on it. You'll need hiding and stealth to make it work but it is very effective both offensively and defensively. You attack from hiding, get a 25% damage increase, and the move returns you to hiding after it hits! Cutlass, Smith’s Hammer, Two-Handed Axe, Dagger, & Sledge Hammer are some of the weapons to chose from.

LOL u get bonus if u have AT LEAST 100 anatomy + 100 tactics. Higher anatomy and tactics np, still have that bonus.

lol, Yes I know that. Reread what I wrote. It was to help suggest to him to squeeze points into other skills, if he needed skills in other areas more.

Basically it boils down to whether he wants to be max damage or max defense type of template :)

Definitely keep Parry.

Do not put Ninja on this template, that would be a horrible idea.
Without hiding or stealth Ninja wouldn't do much good.

This is a straight tank build, and you don't want to skimp on your main skills. Take Wep/Bush/Parry as high as you can go.

Start raising Chiv like you originally planned. When the template starts to get cramped, decide from there what you want to start dropping to lower levels.

Old template but you'll get the idea

120 Weapon (swords in my case)
120 Anatomy
120 Resist
120 Tactics (only really need 90, but I've kept the same build since....a long time ago)
100 parry
100 Healing
65 Chiv

I use skill bonus/hci jewelry on this build. People very often overlook a nice set of jewelry because they are just thirsty (wanting to get max EP even though their template is lacking otherwise)

Bushido, to me at least, is meant more for PVM...not so much PVP.
I could see the usefulness if you have a wicked knife/dagger with a high intensity hit delay spell (fireball/magic arrow) and chain lighting strike for the criticals of 35. Be sure to have your dagger/kryss lesser poisoned to cancel a band aid or to have the mage cast cure. Nox dexxers, even without having DP are very annoying!

very true on the poisoning point, EDA.

Thanks for the tips & ideas everyone, i played around with a few things, dropping some tact & anat & using items for skill, but ultimately wasnt happy with my dmg output & decided to just go 6x120. So now I'm workin with this:

120 fence
120 tact
120 anat
120 heal
120 parry
120 bush

& i have both a fork & a kryss with 50% lightning or FB, along with 40s in various leeches, so LS is big for me. Also i find bush effective in pvp for evasion & confidence as well as LS. Evade is HUGE for living through big mana dumps, dodging that last FS is often crucial, and confidence is a nice additional way of healing with parry.

I'll let ya know how it plays out when im finished maxing out skills, but i think it will be a viable pvp or pvm char. Thanks again for all the input :)

your not saying what kind of pvp your doing..
yew gate, factions, champs...

for one, as soon as i realize you dont have magic resist, im just going to throw up some para fields and poison/harm you till you die.

i do have a warrior close to your build and he does awsome in champs..
get a slayer wep and go to town.. throw in some chiv so you can remove curse and con wep.

he does ok 1 on 1 fighting with another warrior, but gets hit pretty hard against a mage.
110 parry wont cut it pvp.
here is how id make it.

120 wep skill
115 tacs for dmg
120 parry
100 bush..
90 anat
100 healing
75 chiv

everyone says drop healing to 90, but no id drop anat.
at gm healing you can cure poison better, 90 anat you only lose 1 to 3 dmg healed.
plus the dmg increase is made up 2x by 115 tactics.

I've been away for a long time and am working on a bushido template. I'm not sure I understand where resist fits into the game today - is it still as important as it was back in the day (pre-Pub 16 to me), or do suits and trapped pouches make it a waste of points?

And I'm playing on Siege if it makes a difference.

Well, it comes down to personal preference Rifanil. Some people believe in having resist spells, some people like to use items and then rely on their suit resists... i.e. 70/70/70/70/70.

People like to use the trapped boxes, apples, petals yata yata yata whatever other items. Which that and along with pots is just a waste in my book since inevitably you are going to die.

And well, in all of my time playing, there was just one person that I saw who never died. No names, but they were a dexxer and were quite adept I have to say.
