Napa Valley, I need your help. I find myself in a moral dilemna. In order to properly assist me, you will first need to know the story that precipitated this predicament. I have a vendor shop in felluca at a very popular locale. I provide a multitude of products at VERY reasonable prices. (check it out). This morning i was stocking the vendors with exceptional products at VERY reasonable prices, when a blue happens to stop by. At first I figure this person was just browsing through my wonderful vendors, so i continue to stock them with the least bit concern for my personal safety. In addition this person was from a highly "R"espectable guild that all of napa holds in the highest esteem for their honor, high recruiting standards, and their L33t pvp skills. After a few moments of standing there, this player seems to be casting explosion. I am confident that he is probably just about to initiate a conversation to compliment me on the prices of my vendors and that his explosion macro is just part of his typing. But alas he turns grey.
At this point I realize i am about to die with all the stock yet placed on my vendor. As my life flashes in front of my eyes and realizing the hours of hard work spent making these exceptional products will be in vain; I come to my senses and realize that I am not on my crafter but my very gimped out bushido archer. The explosion hits me like a wall of bricks but my quick thinking and most likely the auto-attack result with AI unleashed upon the aggressor. The explosion was the last spell this miscreant was able to cast, because another AI was unleashed and he took off like a bat out of ----. At this point i was in full gimp noob mode and proceed to moving shot him to death.
I figure the miscreant has learned his lesson, not to attack a poor guy stocking his vendors and return to stocking my reasonably priced vendors. After a few moments the above referenced delinquent returns with two of his guildies, who taunt me, call me a noob trammy and other hurtful names. I determine at this point that discretion is the better part of valor and bolt for the nearest guard zone. The evil aggressor hastily decides that no measley guard zone shall stop him from exacting his revenge on little old me, and promptly casts another explosion, and is just as promptly whacked with a hally to his face by my benevolant benefactor Linda.
As I wipe the sweat from my brow, I realize that his two fellow guildies are hovering over his dead body which still seems to be clothed. Never one to miss a chance for a little pvp action, i toggle AI and proceed to attack the nearest guildie. My bow is swift (40 ssi 165 stam) and hits with lightning and this evil red guildie takes a seat. I quickly check the body for any loot, but all he had was pots, which he probably should have used. After dispatching this formidable foe, I begin to chase down the other evildoer, but he seems to adopt my former strategy of running. I figure this guy must have his guildies suit that dropped because this guild always cross heals and support each other in the field making it hard for me to kill them every time with odds of 1 v 4 or greater. But i digress. I catch this poor guy and he decides to take a nap in front of me, probably exhausted from all his running. I proceed to check his corpse. He must have been unable to reinsure his guidlies items, because on his body I find a noncursed pendant of magi, staff of the magi, ornament of the magician, 1/3 crap ring, crap lrc sleeves and 70 resist mr2 19 lrc gloves.
Now here is the aforementioned dilemna, do i reward this miscreant and his fellow delinquents who have sullied the name of a great guild, at least prior to its reincarnation, and tried to kill a poor trammy stocking his VERY reasonable priced vendors, and return his stuff. or do I keep the stuff.
I beseeach you Napa, please help me with this moral conumdrum that I find myself in. My friend has recomended outfitting my vendor with the items to give warning to all evildoers, that karma will bite them in the ---, which has merit . But I will leave it up to you Napa, what to do with these items.

Wow, good for you. I think I would dress my vendors in these items, but still be willing to hear a good plea from these aggressors. If their sales pitch is powerful enough I would consider returning the items, but if it is only average of below I would either keep the items permanantly or sell them back to them at a reduced price.

Were are your vendors? My Palace of All Things PVP has rarely had competition over the years.

First thing first:

I quickly check the body for any loot, but all he had was pots, which he probably should have used.

hahahahahaha

Second thing:

The third rule of the guild to which I belong (Unity []ne) is this:

3) Treat people with the respect they DESERVE. (deserve being the operative word)

As far as the Unity guild rules would have it, dress that vendor up...disrespecting players do not deserve respect in return.

Wow what a great story
I am so impressed with your story telling skills

But wasn't that the same time the shard was unstable
and you as well as everyone else was constantly losing
connection and being thrown from the shard???
Or was you the lucky one and didnt get booted out
and got to stay in and pick others off like you were the
lone ranger?

Just asking
*shurgs*

I'd say they where hoping you didn't insure any items that you where buying or stocking (they prolly didn't know)at the time and decided you should be killed and loot your nice items. I say its Fel. Keep it. I always gave things back or tried to get them back for others. I lost a very nice bow and had to buy it back. So karma never helped me. Keep the loot. Sell it. In fel there are far less honorable people nowdays, and the only kind of karma you can find is neg karma.

Oh it was Sgt. Slaughters stuff? The guy that threatned to hack me? Hmmm... I'd say keep it, show it to him, put it on your vendor, and tell him to go pet his cat. Not that I have anything against him! *love*

It's a freakin game so keep it. Never give anything back unless its a guildie or friend. Cause pain to others thru loss of their pixels. Antagonize them to camp your doorstep. Doing all the above will do nothing but bring more pvp.

I see no moral dilemma, dead people don't need armor or weapons.

As far as our fantasy world, you should return those items if looted during honorable combat and your opponent screwed up. Napa is known for that. But since this was not honorable combat I would say keep an item if you want it and offer to sell the rest back at half price...or less based on the amount of mercy you give them. Famous warriors are known not only for the numbers they kill, but for the mercy they show.

By the way, good story.

lol you wont camp his house, maybe for a few hours a day and get bored

if you attacked him you've probably already attacked some of his customers, thats reason enough for him to keep it.
