Need Help On New Game Items

I'm returning after four years. :gun:

I have to say that Stratics was always my place to hang out and read up on the game, even when I thought I was up to date on things.

Problem now is that there are a few new items in the game that I can't seem to find a lot of information on during my searches:

• Talismans and properties like Random Monster Protection. How does one get talismans and where is there a description of their properties. Some have protection from certain creatures, some can summon creatures. How do you use them, etc?
• Mana Phasing Orb. What is it? How does it work? Where does it come from?
• Crsystal Portal. Got it, but how do you use it?

I hope the 13th year vet reward will be that Mystic hires someone to actually write an actual player's guide.

Talismans acquired either through killing monsters & in the loot or by doing quests in Heartwood.
Can be Activated to summon certain creatures by double clicking the Tali (They do have a cool down period once used & has "X" uses, it can be recharged via enchanted switchs made.
The crystal portals are used to go to the many banks, just say Ie: " Luna Mint " or Minoc Mint or what ever town you want to go to.
My Orb was obtained as T-Map loot, lvl 6 map

● Mana Phasing Orb (Talisman): Your next 2 mana checks are free, until you do damage or attempt to use mana. (Whichever comes first) (Limited Charges, Brittle) On use.

Double-clicking a crystal portal brings up it's user manual

For the Crystal Portal

"(city) Mint" takes you to the primary bank in a city. For Fel cities you have to put the facet name first, before the city name. "Ilshenar Mint" will take you to the Gargoyle city in Central Ilshenar.

"(city) Moongate" takes you to the moongate.

Note that the gate, unlike recalling, WILL take unbonded pets and escorts (either ones picked up in town, or rescued) to the destination. So, if you live in an area with regular brigand spawns, with prisoners, the portal is an easy way for non-mages to get compassion virtue gains.

The Crystal Portal was the hardest to learn. I did not know that it had to be locked down in your house to use it. Double-clicking the crystal portal brings up the user manual, but it was not useful in this regard.

How simple would it have been to add that small detail?

It was not fun running around most of the day yelling "moonglow moongate" with that thing in my backpack.

which tells you:
Crystal Portal

• Teleports players and any accompanying followers directly to a bank or moongate by speaking a vocal command.
  • The Bank’s vocal command is “city name + mint”.
  • The Moongate’s vocal command is “city name + moongate”
• Detailed instructions are available by double-clicking the crystal.
• The crystal must be locked down to work.
• Only players with proper housing permissions are able to use it.
• The usual teleportation restriction rules are applicable (no dragging items or overweight characters).
• All accompanying followers will be transported, including npc escorts or hirelings, unbonded pets and non-bondable constructs.

I feel your pain... I have been back 13 months after a 7 year break and I am still as lost as ever.... All this peerless, LRC, HCI, LMC, HPR, FC, FCR, peerless, keys, quests, necromancy, mysticism, powder of Fort, god I could keep on gonig.... Man it is conusing for a simple mind like mine.
