[Necromancy] Necro-Myst Question

I live on Siege. Over the Thanksgiving weekend I decided I wanted a house in Termur, but couldn't stand the thought of dropping any of my other houses, all of which are in nice locations. So I started a brand baby-new account, immediately renounced my Young status on a normal shard, and built the following template (note, I'm stuck with the 700 cap for now, though it can be boosted with jewelry a bit): 100 - necro, spirit speak, mysticism, focus, resist, hiding [because it is Siege after all], 50 - magery, stealth (I've boosted the magery and stealth with jewelry) [for non-Siege players, we can't use recall, so the magery/jewels combo is so I can use gate scrolls]

I have played with mysticism and am comfortable using the RCs, hail storm, cleansing winds, etc.

But I'm a bit of a dork when it comes to Necromancy. Oh, I played with it a little when it first came out, but that was it. I've read the wonderful FAQs on this thread for it and am digesting the multiple possibilities.

My question here is this: Which necro spells have you found the most useful, and why?

I primarily plan to use this template for PvM, but again, being Siege, one never knows when you will suddenly find yourself in the middle of a PvP fight.

And yes, the house is already up in Termur. Griffinstone Manor is owned by Elvira. :)

These are my favorites. First, don't go above 105 necro. That's all you need to cast strangle with 100% success.

Strangle -- good PvP debuff
Wither -- the most offen spell I use for area Cold attack
Animate Dead -- good to get skeletal dragons that fight for you on some high end mob's corpse
Corpse Skin -- reduces foe's fire and poison resists
Evil Omen -- makes your next spell act as though your target has 0 resisting spells skill
Wraith Form -- great for mana leech with high spirit speak
Blood Oath -- good when PvP dexxer is attacking you.

Those are the ones I use as a necro-mage. But again, my recommendation is no more than 105 necro skill, and only 100 if you don't plan to use strangle. 100 necro gets you 100% wither success.

I plan to go 100 - with jewelry to boost. ;)

Thanks for the suggestions. I know that some swear by Corpse Skin, but I note that it also raises the physical and cold resist of the target - so if folks are pounding on a boss with just physical or cold weapons, it might not be so good. But if everyone is carrying fire weapons. . . .

Thx.

Yes, you need to know your enemy when using corpse skin. There are lots of good fire spells (FS, Exp, FB) so if CS makes fire the lowest resist it works well.

I forgot to mention pain spike is a good PvP finisher spell. They adjusted poison strike in pub 71, but I haven't tested that much.
