Is he possible to beat as a lone Tamer?

And only with a Greater Dragon?

Went today with my Cu shide and wasn't too successful ...

Well, it all depends on your healing skill but i think it might be possible with a cu.

The key is not to attack directly navrey and to not stay near her when your pet is teleported: it's not a target switcher so if it doesn't take damage from another source it will stay on the current target and if it looses it then it will take some time before it retargets.

It is relatively easy with the greater dragon, it just takes so much time (around 45 minutes) that you will cry for someone else to come and shorten the pain.

Def possible, much easier with disco.
I bring my "secondary" dragon so if he dies, i don't get to excitable about it.

Edited to add: I haven't done this in awhile, because RNG hates me. That is all.

Thanks for replies, and now a 2nd question....

How do you get your drags in there? getting them past the goblins and spiders in the passage?

I'm sure the pet summoning balls don't work there?

Park your Dragon at the entrance to the abyss; run to Navery's cave and enter, find a somewhat safe location, then log off quickly & log back on - your pet will appear next to you.

This, unless you are feeling adventurous and want to fight your way there. It only gets really hairy toward the entrance to naavry... that and if your GD has an attitude (like mine does)

The ball of pet summoning is a mysterious tool that works everywhere you don't really need it. So, of course, it doesn't work in abyss.

You can walk down with the dragon, it is just very boring because of the very advanced path-finding algorithms of the pet: it will get stuck at every step, he will block, stop responding, then it will be ganged and you'll have to kill all the spiders to "release" it... horrible experience, really.

The most used strategy is to get the dragon out of stables, park it somewhere, walk your way until the navrey lair, hide and relog: the pet will then appear near you.

Imho is an exploit because the autostable feature was meant to overcome some of the effects of the many bugs that influence pet's usage, not as a pet of ball summoning that actually works.

Anyway Navrey's lair is a relatively safe place so the chances to be revealed in the few seconds required to get your dragon are very low.

A GD works very well and yes Loging seams to be the only way to get pets in.

It is very easy to use your pet in Narvery, I have turned a tamer into a thrower so I chuck Boomerangs over my Draggies shoulder as she nibbles on Narvey, Just watch out when the pet gets webbed across the room can create a problem if you get webbed close to the eight legger and get munched on.

Of course droppping the cieling on her definatly helps since she has about 40K HPs the drop takes her down about 20 -30 %.
