Naturalist Quest Question

I am trying to do the naturalist quest and he is telling me I'm "pre-occupied with another task" I'm n ot in middle of any quest or anything. Is this some kind of KNown bug? Something a GM can or will fix"They've done absolutely nothing to help me so far besides sending me canned messages that are of no use whatsoever" or is there some task I'm in the middle of I might not be aware of?
I have no quest on Quest gump.
I said " I resign from my quest" to make sure.
Tried logging in and out in safe area.
MAybe it has to do with Halloween quest. Ive completed it but you can do the last part over and over so maybe its still like Im in middle of quest.

you probably know this, but did you check both places for quests? on your avatar and on your paperdoll?

No I didnt check both. That appears to be what was up. I was in middle of deamon bone quest.

Thx that should fix prob will see after I turn in last daemon bone apparently I have 999 daemon bones turned in. I have'nt done anything with that in five years because I was away, so am kind of surprised.

All the old quests (naturalist, solen, collector, hag, Doom) share the same quest slot ... right click on your character and if "view quest log" is an option on the context menu that pops up, you're on one ... selected it to see which one you currently have active.

I tested "I resign from my quest" on one of my characters and confirmed that command doesn't do anything. You could have a "cancel quest" option on the context menu.

See thats what kill me bout them. I cancelled my GM request 5 Mins later I get canned message about requiring further investigation... In other words we are not gonna help ya.

While DevilsOwn was able to solve it with a simple suggestion.

Really I'd like to know what their job description is. I've played alot of games and while this has always been my favorite it has the worst customer service of any of them.
I mean one time on WoW I paged GM (they always showed up to try to help.usually in matter of mins)bout some missing mail(if ya ever played the game youll know) hes telling me its there Im telling him it's not and even though I was wrong,I couldn't see it because I had to remove some, he stayed there for 45 mins trying to help me figure it out. I got stuck few times went in to limbo few times and they would show right up and drop me wherever i wanted to go.Appologize for inconvenience ask if there was anything else they could help with..
In this game I have never had them do anything but send me canned messages.

Sorry this turned into rant but prob is solved and now I feel a bit better.

UO is a sprawling, complicated game with over a dozen years of accumulated quirks. People in customer service pits do not magically know everything about their field just because they're getting a paycheck (although probably they do eventually accumulate more knowledge than any one of us before moving up to other work). However, when you page a GM with a cryptic question, one person looks at the request and applies their knowledge. If you post on the boards, you get read by a hundred people and the most knowledgable ones will jump in (well, and a few of the rest of us will throw our 2 cents in too).
